Is Halloween a satanic holiday?

Would it be right for me as a Catholic to dress up in a costume and go to a holloween party? I’ve been told it’s a Satanic holdiay where hundreds of black masses are performed. If it is indeed and it would be a sin to endorse it, then please let me know so my conscience can be at peace, along with my mother 😃
