…I will not take medical advices from a stranger on an internet forum no matter how qualified he/she says he is and especcilyh since this forum is supposed to be a religios forum and not a medical one.
At no time were you given MEDICAL advice. That is against forum rules.

The most remarkable thing about this site is that you will be preached at and condemned for your thoughts and opinions. You will be slammed and called disrespectful for asking an innocent question. In psychological terms, there are a lot of people who lack appropriate ego boundaries. There is an inordinate amount of pathology here for some reason. I don’t really know why. I doubt that this is a characteristic of Catholics in general. But there is some value here if you ignore the crackpots. I used to engage them, but now I try to ignore them, or treat them nicely while I pity them. You will also find a lot of illogic passing as logic.
Funny, I have found just the opposite, and if I do find any of the examples that christyd posted, they are from non-Catholics, atheists, agnostics or trolls.

I have found that by reading very widely, across lots of topics and threads, it becomes clear which frequent posters are faithful to the magisterium, and what their specific expertises are. There is one poster who knows Church documents like the back of her hand, and when I needed a specific, documented answer, I pm’ed her and she gave me exactly what I needed 🙂 Some here teach RCIA and know all about that. Some know about mental illness, or the annulment process or canon law.

If I ask a question and the thread derails after I’ve gotten a good answer, I cheerfully abandon the thread.

Some people do get rude or nasty, which seems to happen in any anonymous environment, and I just choose not to notice. There is context behind every post, but most of the time we have no idea what it is, or what would unexpectedly push someone’s buttons. It was useful to me to know that perforated condoms should be known about, bc I have never heard of them outside the Catholic world. It didn’t sound a bit doctor-bashing to me, but that’s because of my personal context.

Everybody’s situation is different. Take what works for you and don’t worry about the rest 🙂

Hi everybody,

I went through this issue some month ago, and it was very difficult for me to find on Internet a reliable information. This is why I am searching the threads about this topic to help people in the same situation.

I am catholic and I discussed the official roman church teaching about this with a priest specialist of this technical question.
It is not obvious, because the 1st priest I talked to was not sure about the anwser, so he asked his collegue who was skilled studied this question.
=> Masturbation is not allowed for ANY medical purpose ! Sorry, I suspected something like this…

Anyway, after many searches I found a discussion about electroejaculation.
This procedure can be done in most IVF centers with anaesthesia and electric pulses.
I had it two months ago, and when I woke up I had my semen analysis report without any side effect… or moral dilemna !
Yes I had to travel and to pay about 2k$ but it was worth it !

Hope this helps !
