Is Having Close Calls Mortal Sin

I’ve been having problems with keeping up my abstinence from watching porn, but I have recently been doing considerably better at abstaining from doing so. Although I have not watched porn in some time, I still have these urges to start doing it again and I have had some very close calls where I pull up the porn site and get very tempted to look at the pictures, but only see the blurred parts of them and then proceed to close the site. Is having these close calls a mortal sin?

Most likely no, this is not a mortal sin.
First thing is this to stop focusing on the specks on the window, and start taking in the light, ok? The purpose of the light of Christ is not to drive you to a constant scrupulous condemnation. The light of Christ should bring you to a realistic and wholesome view of yourself. And these minutiae are only going to frustrate you and hinder you in your battle against pride and it’s sickly little brother, lust.
  1. prepare yourself for a lengthy battle. That battle will have ups and downs, and obsessing over your spiritual status at every turn is slavery. Find a good priest, and listen to him. Obsessing over the minutiae is only going to frustrate and terrify you, and guess what the remedy for anxiety and fear are…more porn. Get off the merry go round and get with a good confessor and other men for accountability, and prepare for a long battle together.
and with all due respect to others who have recommended devotions and prayers…these are not magic potions and they are not quick fixes. Quick fix is what porn provides.

Also, could you please explain a bit more about what you mean towards making satisfaction for sins instead of analyzing the guilt?

Thank you, I’ll try to find a good confessor and ask him for advice as well which should help my uncertainty.
 
I think the willful act would be actually choosing to type in the site.
