Is having sexual thoughts about your wife sinful?

All things being equal if a spouse unilaterally opts for a celibate lifestyle then he/she is in sin. Refusal of the giving aspect of sexuality in a marriage is a sin in most instances.
Is there any quantification? At least Weekly, monthly, yearly, every five years…?
… I would have to seperate if my spouse consistently refused sex without an underlying medical issue…perhaps even divorce and try to have the marriage declared annulled.
That is not as easy as with kids (from an earlier time in the marriage) and a desire to fulfill commitments regardless of what I get or do not get in return.

There is no such thing as a “celibate marriage.” The terms are contradictory. If you don’t have sex with your spouse, you are violating the first commandment. And I’m not referring to the Decalogue. The fact that we have been commanded to have sex with our spouses mandates that we have sexual thoughts about the other. This is part of our obedience to the Father.

Matthew

No, there is no time-frame set up, but other than medical necessity, a couple should NOT abstain from sex except by mutual consent and then for only a SHORT time…if one spouse unilaterally makes that decisison IT IS A SIN.

I sure hope not. My hubby and I used to send each other sexual text messages all day until we could hook up at the end of the day.
😛

Of course, now, it’s kind of difficult because he is Afghanistan right now.
😦

Except perhaps for Mary / Joseph ??

In view of Jesus teaching on who ever looks at a women lustfully commits adultery, how does this translate when one applies this to one’s marriage partner?

I certainly don’t look at my wife as a mere sex object, but I certainly think of her sexually etc (without going into much detail) I see my desiring of her as part of the martial act, is this sinful?
Okay, here’s the skinny:

Fact: You are married!

Fact: There is no such things as looking at your wife with LUST!

Fact: Even if you masturbate to an image of your wife when she’s not around you haven’t committed a sin.

Love you wife, pleasure her and make made passionate love to her as the Bible tells you unless you two make time for prayer and fasting. Once that’s over get back to it. I can’t believe this question comes up this often.

Wow, I am so glad this guy is banned.

This seems like disordered logic to me.

Maybe this proves that too much masturbation is truly disordered.

Read Corinthians 4. Paul says spouses should not withhold sex from one another.
