Adorer Hitler was clearly mental…he was a catholic however even all the dreadful and terrible things he done…is he in hell or heaven ??? even he was in sanity. Well in my decision he should be In hell

We should not pronounce a judgment of condemnation on anyone’s soul.
*Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgement you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own…" *
In this passage we see three kinds of judgment we are not to do:
Judgment of Condemnation:
Judgment in this passage is referring to condemning (“pronouncing” judgment on a person’s soul). We are not the “Judge” to pronounce condemnation on anyone (not even ourselves). Only God can do that. The Church, for example, never pronounces “anyone” in hell. And even in the assessment of a person declared a saint, it is done by special dispensation granted to the Church by her authority of the “keys”. But even with this authority, we need to note that it is never applied to judging a person in hell. If the Church, who has the authority of the keys will not judge a person to condemnation, how can we? We are never to judge a person’s state of soul. Jesus tells us that we will receive ourselves the judgment of soul that we place on others if we attempt this usurpation of God’s sovereignty.

We should not pronounce a judgment of condemnation on anyone’s soul.
I certainly agree with this statement. However, in the case of Hitler, I think we can say there was no visible evidence of faith, repentance, love or respect for others and his legacy is one of horrendous pain and suffering inflicted on the innocent. That being said, while we can judge Hitler (and other criminals) on this earth, in terms of the eternal destiny, I leave him in God’s hands who alone will judge him.

Blessings,

Brian

We cannot say. Only God knows. Even the Church has never made official pronouncements of who is in hell. They only know by evidence of miracles who is in heaven.

He could be… but we’ll never know for sure. There is no way of ever telling if someone is in hell. However, we do have ways of determining when someone is definitely in Heaven. Interesting, huh?

All indications are that Hitler was not a “practicing” Catholic. Saddam Hussein was not a “practicing” muslim either. They were more “secular” leaders than anything else.

The Church teaches that we do not know where anyone is with the exception of the God, Jesus, Angels and Saints.

He’s probably in Hell, but we can’t know for sure until the Final Judgement.

His actions certainly indicate a person with no belief in, or love for God, and his mortal sins were legion, up to and including his own suicide.

However, we can never completely discount the possibility (however remote) of a last second repentance.

There is a story that Stalin’s died while shaking his fist at the ceiling and cursing. Who knows, that might have been God giving him a last chance, and him rejecting it.

God Bless

The woman who the movie The Exorcism of Emily Rose was based on, wasn’t one of the demons Hitler? I thought that I heard that the woman in real life who was possesed by the demons that one was Hitler. Maybe I’m wrong though.

I hadn’t heard that - but a few comments.

Hitler cannot be a demon. He will always be a human soul. Angels are a totally different creature from human beings. We don’t become angels in Heaven or demons in Hell.

There is a possibility that in a possession, demons could bring condemned human souls with them. In Begone, Satan one of the evil beings claimed to be the possessed woman’s father who cursed her, one claimed to be her father’s mistress, and one claimed to be Judas.

It is also quite possible the demon is just lying about its identity.

My oldest daughter once asked our priest if he felt Judas was in hell since he not only turned over the Son of God to be killed, but then killed himself. He told her that we have no way of knowing in this life who is in hell and who is not. That we have no way of knowing what is in someone’s heart and mind when they die.
As far as Hitler is concerned, he was as evil as you can get but I am in no position to say where anyone has gone. And truly we don’t know.

There is no place in Christianity for hate.
I will always suspend judgement for anyone in this matter.
What about this possibility? Repentance on the point of death? I wonder–is it possible that some people, somewhere, wish this did not happen in his case?

As Christians, we are to hate sin, not people.

We should hate evil actions, but pray for their perpetrators to repent.

God Bless

The devil wants us to say yes he is in hell, because God’s mercy couldn’t possibly forgive such horrendous acts of evil. But in actuality, we all must be prepared to break bread with even Adolf Hitler, if he was genuinely sorry for his sins, and thus received mercy and forgiveness by God.

Well, who cares? I am more concerned about my own salvation and frankly don’t have time to wonder about the fate of someone else.

In actuality we are to love our neighbor as part of our own fulfillment of God’s Will which translates into praying for those in Purgatory. Hitler may be there. But the temptation is to believe that God’s Mercy is not strong enough to forgive the heinous misgivings of Hitler. If we start down this road then we come to something that we’ve done wrong that God could never forgive. If we can’t be forgiven, then(excuse the expression) what the hell, might as well do other things that are wrong, leading us further and further from God, because of our inability to think that Hitler could be forgiven his sins.

If the man was mentally ill, one could say that would factor into his final judgment.
