Hi.
I have always understood that the Church teaches that homosexual orientation in itself is not a sin. It is not a sin because it is not freely chosen. Homosexual ACTIVITY, however, is the sin.
There have been a lot of homosexuality threads going around recently, and there are actually an alarming number of Catholic posters here who claim that the Church DOES indeed teach that homosexual orientation is both a sin AND a choice.
Is this correct? Does the Church teach that homosexual orientation (not just action) is both a choice and a sin?? Or does it teach that it is neither a choice or a sin unless acted upon?
Clearing this up for me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
