Is interracial marriage "wrong"?

After reading the bilge on those posts, some jest is very welcome, otherwise I think I might just have gone off pop!
Well said my friend. It’s very hard to recognize the “tone” of a post, so we have to be so careful sometimes.

But yes, people of all types, not just us on these forums, need to loosen up and smile a bit. Don’t take everything so seriously.

I can’t speak for anyone else but I know I’m pure-blooded. I just don’t know what’s pure about it.

And that joke didn’t really work out the way I wanted.

Ug! Typical science buff-talking about how all us peons don’t know anything about science!

Dude (or dudette) I’m TOTALLY teasing with you. I’m the literary/arts/humanities geek who HATED all my science classes in high school/college. I think both of us-artistic geeks and science geeks love to think about how the other doesn’t know anything about our topic. I admit I know nothing about science.

I’m just having some fun. Please don’t take my post too seriously.
(It’s dude :D) No worries mate. When I say basic…I mean really basic. Like how races aren’t different species…or the existence of evolution. Though that one’s my fault, couldn’t resist diving into that hornet’s nest. I have learned my lesson though.

Gotta admit, I have no artistic ability. Used to be able to sketch animals really well…only animals. Spose that was a premonition of budding biological skills.

…and? I’m appalled with the state of Blacks in the United States, too. It’s hard not to be, what with the achievement gap, the pay gap, the incarceration gap, and the total destruction of Black family life outside the too-small Black middle class.

However, the fact that I am appalled does not mean that I must impute the causes of the disaster to genetic makeup. Blacks in the U.S. were destroyed by well-meaning but highly destructive economic and anti-poverty programs which created powerfully bad economic incentives. These incentives, combined with the destructive ideology of sexual liberation in the 1960’s and '70’s, as well as the contemporary advent of “affirmative action” policies, led a huge part of the African-American racial community into an economic hell of familial self-destruction and generationalized welfare. Had my own Irish race happened to have the bad luck to be poor in the 1960’s instead of the Blacks, the same thing would have happened to us.

The tragedy resulted from a potent combination of economics, culture, and ideology (mostly perpetrated by well-meaning white politicians), not race.
You sir are a towering socio-political analyst of the first order. This is absolutely correct. Every single point. How people cannot see this is beyond me.

THAT THUMBNAIL WAS CLASSIC!

I must have laughed for about 5 minutes on that one!

Three cheers!

This is off-topic, but I think an intervention is needed here.

Rascalking, you need to go to xkcd.com and just read the archives. I don’t know how you’ve been on the internet so long without finding it, but now you have, and, if you liked that panel, XKCD is going to make you very happy.

Except for the creepy ones. There are a few of those.

There’s nothing wrong with interracial marriage and one should not be dissuaded from entering into one because of fears of harassment for the children of such a union. If people want to discriminate or torment another individual they’ll find a motive, if it’s not race it could be weight or religion.

God made humanity (with its varied traits and adaptations) in His image and calls us to love one another - without exclusions. Sorry to disappoint some of the more “enlightened” but God loves the “inferior” equally as much as He does the “superior” and we are called to do the same - no distinctions exist for Him nor should they for us.
