Is is okay to pray to your guardian angel?

Is is okay to pray to your guardian angel??? If so, what prayer should be said?
I feel that I have had a guardian angel with me on several occasions… and I always say thank you for the support that I have received, but I want to make sure that I am praying correctly. Thank You.
