Is Islam a threat to Christianity around the globe?

Bridgeforsale…

Depends on which battle you want to take with the Church as well…Christ sustains it inspite of its humanity.

Lots 'o luck.
I don’t think luck has anything to do with it. The Catholic Church is quickly becoming a third world organization; and it’s following in Europe and the US is rapidly diminishing. The numbers it uses are fictitious (while there may be more than a billion baptized Catholics worldwide, I doubt anymore than a third of them are practicing, and it’s probably far less than that). What will happen when the western world finally pulls the rug out from under her feet and stops funding Catholic schools in Europe or putting up with Catholic hospitals in the US who want discretion over what medical services to provide … based on a moral system ambiguously taken from ancient myths? Eventually the church will just be a museum (which is about the only productive use I can think of for it).

Say, you don’t know about all the vocations coming out of Africa…my dad said they would in 1973…and they see things in Scripture I haven’t heard anybody address…they are quality vocations and have alot of insight helping our country with its culture of self-isolation.

Bridgeforsale…how you wish!!! I heard on the radio that the Catholic hospitals in our country are the best…and we also have an increase in local vocations as well…my former diocese shut down its seminary…we prayed and then by 1999, we had 33 local men in the seminary…many are now getting ordained, and most are white.

You won’t hear anything good in this country in America…we have been managing on our own…and if they make us pay for abortions, we have no attachment to our hospitals and the bishops will shut them down…we are already second class citizens here anyway.

As all religions and other organizations / corporations should be.

Q: “So what do you think should be done about Salafi or other Muslims who you say are not acting as true Muslims should act?”
🤷
A: I am not the one to say what you should do, and im not sure that is even an important question to ask anyone unless they can influence the doing of whatever it is they should do. Islam was completed in the lifetime of muhammad, so if somebody comes with a new interpretation of quran in the 1700’s (which is what salafis did) they cannot be following the original islam.
Q: “Because to the non-Muslim, it is not important what kind of Islam the terrorist practices.”
A: It should be important to them if they want to find a solution to this madness with the least amount of innocent lives taken as possible! If they dont care about innocent people and just want to be ignorant barbarians and kill everyone with the title of a muslim, then they are nothing but lifeless monsters headed for the fires of hell. Terrorists come from all religions. Period. But, terrorism does not have a religion.
👍
Q: “The violent verses of the Qur’an do not specify which sects are to take them literally and which are not.”
A: It is not proper to call them “violent verses”. And your sentence made absolutely no sense. Each sect chooses whatever interpretation of quran they wish, according to their own minds. What I mean is, each sect was founded by a DIFFERENT INTERPRETATION OF THE WORDS OF QURAN. And some sects believe you have to still fight all disbelievers for all time, but majority of islamic sects believe that it is an extremist view created by hippocrites for their political agendas, and that we should love everyone regardless of their creed race or gender. 👍
Prophet Muhammad (S) said “All human beings are equal like the teeth of the comb are equal.”*

What about regardless of “religion”? In other words does this love the “average Muslim” have for his fellow man extend to non-Muslims? And if you’re going to say yes, why should I believe you (given there doesn’t seem to be anything suggesting what you’re indicating here is true).

I’d like to think it’s true, but I would like to see evidence? In other words perhaps you can point me to a mainstream Islamic denominations web site, where they denounce terrorism? Besides a very small collection of Muslims (usually in the media community, who appear on Sunday talk shows) I can’t think of a single Muslim individual or organization who speaks out against terrorism (much less an organization who represents a majority or even significant number of Muslims openly working to combat this stereotype of Islam, and to promote interfaith dialog and understanding)?

I’d really like to be proven wrong 🤷

This is a bit of a cop out, don’t you think? After all, I could say the same thing about the various sects of Christianity that I do not think are following the true message as was established in the early Church, but it doesn’t preclude me from criticizing the actions of any Christian and demanding that they stop doing any violence in the name of Christianity. Why should Islam be any different? It sounds like you want to wash your hands of these sects that you don’t agree with, and I don’t blame you, but when they are dragging your entire religion down with them, isn’t it up to orthodox Muslims to confront them? In my own religion’s past, Christian fought Christian to restore the rightful use of holy icons (the “Iconoclasm” controversy), for instance. Why don’t Muslims take terrorists to task for what, in the end, is a very grave problem that only Muslims can solve?

Wait a minute, wait a minute. Are you suggesting that it is NON-Muslims’ responsibility to reform Islam? This makes no sense. We don’t believe in Islam. We have no stake in its continuation.

Well, that is what I see them as, so that is what I will call them.

Thank you. This essentially confirms my position.

That is good. I would like to also see some of that peace in action, rather than the unremitting violence that plagues Islamic lands held hostage by violent ideology, whether you think it is fit to blame that ideology on Islam or not.
Prophet Muhammad (S) said “All human beings are equal like the teeth of the comb are equal.”*
Muhammad’s dualism is, to put it politely, unbecoming of a self-proclaimed prophet. I find no comfort in any such platitude from him or any of his partisans when it has been recorded in Sahih Muslim, Book 19, Number 4366 that your prophet also said the following:

"I will expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula and will not leave any but Muslim."

With such a leader, how can anyone expect anything less than the flagrant lies and deceptions that we see today coming from what passes for Islamic apologists? “All human beings are equal”, indeed. It would seem that some are more equal than others. It is a shame that your prophet is prized for his illiteracy. A thorough reading of Animal Farm would have done him, and hence you and all Muslims, a lot of good.

I am an old woman…I read Roy Shoeman’s book about 4 years ago…I used to have a fairly good memory…He was speaking of the origins of the Muslim Brotherhood out of Egypt, and yes, they were in collusion with the Nazis as well…'22 I thought.
Must be some mistake. Nazis did not have much charm in 1922. And the MB was not perhaps established by 1922. There must be some mistake in the year. It could be 1932, will be believable.

Many were misled by not knowing the real face of Hitler and Musolini. Same for the Ben Laden… People get attracted. Many Muslims were naming their children as Osama in Muslim countries before 9/11. So it happens with people who are not guided, who cannot see the future. The British Prime Minister (before Churchill) was negotiating with Hitler (in Black Forest, 1938?) to bring him to some understanding. But Churchill knew that there was great danger ahead. He did not believe in negotiating with Hitler.

The head of the Ahmadis had denounced Jihad in year 1891 A.D. He clearly said that Jihad was Haraam. He was under the British rule. It was difficult to say such a thing to Muslims in those days. He forbade any violence in the name of God.

But the ignorant self made muslim leaders (Imams) abused and called Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as Kaafir. Since then the Ahmadis are being persecuted and killed every week. But who was right?? And who was wrong?? And who took the right stand in the face of utter opposition?? It is very difficult to live under dangerous conditions.

The present day Muslims may be a danger to many nations.

May Allah help those who cannot help themselves.

Answer: Of course there is more than that to islam, but the reason why I feel it is an important statement to make is because if people like myself in the usa convert to islam and pray 5 times a day and recite arabic and do charity, there is no danger for anyone, there is only benefits. You make wudhu, so you are hygenic. You pray 5 times a day so you overcome laziness and become more reliable, gaining integrity. Islam does not require that you go to a mosque and be brainwashed by the muslim teachers nor does it require that you join a group of muslims or anything resembling such activity. And the only time you have to go somewhere (where other muslims are) and it is obligatory upon you, is when you can afford to go to hajj, without owing anyone money, then you have to go.

*Quote: Sahih al-Bukhari 4:52:41 *

Answer: I am a shi3i. And hundreds of millions of shias worldwide agree with me that “Sahih” Al Bukhari is chock full of rubbish which has contradicted the Holy Qur’an. Infact, in islam there is no such things as “sahih” (100% authentic) books other than Holy Qur’an. It is a consensus across the board, from our Blessed Prophet (S) and our Imams, that No book can be 100% Authentic except Qur’an.

They are Muhammad, Ali (First Male to Accept Islam), Hassan, Hussain, and 9 Sons of Hussain. (AS) Imam Jafar As-Saddiq (AS) said “if a hadith contradicts qur’an, throw it away.” Imam Jafar As-Saddiq is respected by both sunnis and shias alike, and is the 6th Imam after the Prophet Muhammad (S).

the problem is terrorism, not religion. you need to focus on the problem instead of creating confusion and division.

is it just a coincidence that 99.44% of terrorists are Muslim? I think not.*
😃
Answer: haha where did u get this number? Bring the source of that pls. Because i’d say thats a ridiculous lie. I can claim 44% of catholics eat lollipops, i think i will…but now i feel so shallow and unfulfilled

*There is a big difference between Islam [the belief] and Muslims [the people], *

Yes. Islam is when someone or something obeys Allah’s will. Muslims are those who
A. aspire to take part in the cosmic ISLAM.
or
B. aspire to take over the world.

You can not choose Islam AND the world. Ye cannot serve God AND Satan.
🤷
*and there is a big difference between saying “all Muslims are terrorists” and “all terrorists are Muslim”. *
your heart knows, “Not all muslims are terrorists, and not all terrorists are muslims.” If you disagree with this then you are yourself an extremist since you deny common sense and critical thinking in favor of your personal religio-political agenda based on blind convictions with no evidence; and also because you instill terror in ignorant web-surfers (via lies) to enforce this agenda.
😉
But that is not the case, which casts doubt on the truth of Muslim beliefs and raises the question of whether they themselves really believe that Islam is true.

we dont fear criticism, and if you are looking for fear where there is none means you either want us to be afraid or you are projecting something upon us through more crazy talk in order to further your agenda once again. (which is to perpetuate confusion & division between the east and west, and in this instance, your tactic is to make islam seem less credible, by making muslims seem like they dont believe in islam) In reality its obvious how much we love islam and this needs no further comment.
Unfortunately, stereotyping is a human trait. By contrast, someone draws a cartoon of Mohammed, and the whole ummah stereotypes all Christians and goes on a barbaric rampage in which it kills non-Muslims at random.

As you know I am a shi3i, and killing non muslims is not permissible for us, much less obligatory. If someone has a death warrant issued they have to be arrested and put on trial, then legally put to death. If people deviate from these laws, they can be put on trial and punished too. Unfortunately lots of places have weak police force or corrupted completely. But all this is irrelevant to me living in the usa, believing in shia islam, worshipping allah, not joining a group or going to a mosque (yet accepted by shias as a full shia), and being a lover of peace. Had i joined a group (which all my brothers and sisters i know have done) i would find the teachers teaching about all wonderful things and speaking out against extremism (as I have listened to hundreds of hours of their lectures and learned directly from a teacher at a university in iran full of beautiful moments and wisdom.)

*Conclusion: Islam has a PR problem that is not going to get solved by more Muslim violence. *
Islam has no such problem, YOU and majority of the world have the PR problem ABOUT ISLAM. You studied for a day, then left it in order to pursue debates. Everything in islam is already figured out, but we muslims know that the only way to get to that knowledge is to figure out which school of thought is correct through research. Islam is complete, not confused, not corrupted, and it is perfect guidance for mankind. Its just that the world has seem to forgotten this version of Islam except for exceptional few individuals.

Forget about muslims leaving islam, its not gonna happen. Focus on getting extremists to realize theyre extremists.

👍

By the way, none of this is gonna be solved by violence, muslim or non-muslim. It is going to continue and be solved by the return of Jesus Christ. Let’s all be good people. Islam is not the threat. Im a muslim, am i a threat to you? rubbish. Islam is not the threat, salafi islam is the threat. i want to know why you people refuse to target salafis specifically even though they are the terrorists. I am convinced, you must have some strange agenda for this. Either that, or youre just pulling people’s proverbial legs online for entertainment purposes.

Al Qaeda did 9/11. Al-Qaeda (lead by osama bin laden) is a branch of the salafi sect.
Al Bukhari was a salafi. Ibn Taymiyya, salafi.
Muhammad ibna abdul wahabb, salafi.
Ibn Saud, salafi.

Now, if salafis (saudi arabian version of islam invented in the 1700’s) hate shias, (as I have been told by salafis that I am not a muslim and my blood is now halal), then why the hell would I want to perpetuate their terrorist agenda? Duh, they hate us BECAUSE WE ARENT TERRORISTS OR VIOLENT AND WE LOVE PEACE. Thats why they say we’re not muslims. Therefore Islam itself is absolutely and definitely NOT a threat. Stop refusing to TARGET YOUR ENEMY. Muslims and the West have a common enemy, salafis. We need to get together and figure out how to get them out of our countries if they refuse to accept a more peaceful version of islam.

I don’t think you will find anyone here who has very many problems with the idea of containing and eliminating the purveyors of religious violence (Salafis). The additional question, in keeping with the topic of this thread, is whether or not violence in Islam will be abated by the marginalization of any particular sect. I do not think I am alone here in saying that it is too optimistic to say that one necessarily follows the other. My Christians brothers and sisters in Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Lebanon, North Africa, and elsewhere were murdered and oppressed in the name of Islam long before the 1700s. This oppression has been a systematic feature of our history since the beginning of Islam, and it continues to the current day. While some sects of Islam may present themselves and their religion as more inherently peaceful than others (and may even be practiced in a more peaceful way, as in the historically mystically-inclined Sufi sects of Central Asia), there is no reforming of Islam as a religion. The immutable laws of Allah are there in the Qur’an, expounded upon by the Hadith and the Sunnah. We do not recognize them as peaceful, regardless of what Muslims may say they are intended to be. Islamic “peace” is not peace for Christians, Zoroastrians, believers in indigenous African religions, Hindus, Jews, Sikhs, etc. Your vision of your own religion does not speak to the truth of our collective historical and contemporary experiences.

Is the rise of Islam in America and around the world going to be dangerous to the spread and livelihood of Catholicism. I’ve read that the ultimate goal of Islam is to rule the world and to convert every non-believer(infidel) to Islam and if they cannot be converted then murder is justified. This I’ve also read is derived from their “most holy texts” the Qur’an and the Hadith of Bukhari. If you ask a devout Muslim about such claims he is liable to say anything in order to placate the situation because derived from the same texts is that it is appropriate to deceive or lie to infidels for the spread of Islam.

I’m still very young in my Catholic faith but what I understand is that the epitome of being a Catholic is to be a saint(spiritual perfection) by loving the Lord our God with all our heart, mind, and soul; and to love our neighbors as ourselves achieved through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
From my minimal research on Islam it seems the epitome of being a Muslim is to spread the world dominance of the religion using whatever means possible. Murder, Deception, Theft, TERROR. If these inherent evils lie deep in the hearts of all devout Muslims hidden in secret.
Could Islam be a global threat to Christianity in the near future?

website I got most these claims

Personally, I think the answer is YES. Sadly Islam is spreading like a plague. (no surprise since it is Satan who is behind it) Many “moderate” muslims here might react, but those people since they are “moderate” are really not muslims. The true muslims are the extremist which follows the REAL Islam. So, assuming that all Muslims follow the real teachings of Islam… then it is death to the infidels as what Mohhamad commands.

In support of bpbasilphx I too have heard a similar story. A colleague of mine at work, Sami Kaper told me his experience years ago, before the first intifada uprising took place on the West Bank; and Palestinians were working everywhere in Israel and they had some sort of prosperity. Sami and an Arab co-worker were working together in construction and were acquainted for a number of months. At a lunch break the Arab said in passing that even though they are friends, he will one day have to kill him. Sami just got up, left the site and never came back. I live in Jaffa since 1981 and living among Muslims is essentially peaceful, but there is a tension in the air and a feeling of being tolerated.

I guess I’m spot on in my assumptions

If US Could Create ‘Avatar’, It Could Fake 9/11 Attacks: Mahathir

Speaking at a pro-Palestinian conference in Kualar Lumpur Malaysia’s former PM Mahathir Mohamad said -
there was “strong evidence” the US faked the September 11 terror attacks as an excuse to go to war against Muslims.
He then went on to denigrate the Jewish people, -
The former premier also blamed Jews for hindering progress in US foreign policy. Voicing his disappointment that Barack Obama had not yet ended the war in Afghanistan or closed the US terror detention center at Guantanamo, he explained that “there are forces in the United States which prevent the president from doing some things. One of the forces is the Jewish lobby.”
Jews “had always been a problem in European countries. They had to be confined to ghettoes and periodically massacred. But still they remained, they thrived and they held whole governments to ransom," Mahathir said.
“Even after their massacre by the Nazis of Germany, they survived to continue to be a source of even greater problems for the world.”
His quotes are a two edged sword, with criticisms aimed at the US and with criticisms aimed at the Jewish people, he is actually attacking the Judeo-Christian heritage of the west. He is also inciting the Muslim people’s of the world to hold the US, Jews and the west in contempt. .
How can anyone explain this man’s thoughts, actions and words away?

The spectacle of a person of one religion declaring which version of another religion is “real” never ceases to amaze me. It’s hard for me to get my head around the assumptions that lead you to think that doing such a thing can be anything more than a sick joke.

What are you, the Pope of Islam?

Even granted that you have a better insight into the meaning of the Qur’an in its original historical context than either moderate Muslims or non-Muslim scholars of Islam, where do you get the idea that any religion’s “real” form is identical with the most probable original meaning of its sacred texts?

Freemasons have their properties and their assets sequestered, are imprisoned and executed by the Muslim world, not consecrated.

Now that is fact and truth, which I am afraid leads me to believe that you Shawn are, shall we say, over-egging the pudding, just a tad?
