Is Islam an Evil Religion

Hi - just a question. I am attending a family BBQ and a lot of Fundamentalist are there and they are speaking on how they are learning that the Islam faith is evil. It is part of their Sunday School lessons. And they are being fed a lot of info that may not be entirely what is taught. I know - because i have been in the service where their preacher speaks untruths about Catholics (we no longer visit ths church).

Is Islam Evil? Do they promote suicidal missions? Can someone direct me to literature that I can provide to these people that sets the record straight?

It is my believe that many fundamental religions are teaching how terrible this group is. Comments?

I understand what you are saying … but I have been in a room with a number of fundamentalists that are being taught at their Sunday School … that all Islamies (spelling) believe in suicidal bombings, etc. …

Frankly, your fundie friends thinks any group that doesn’t preach precisely what they do is evil. But, I suppose you mean that they think Islam evil because of people like bin Laden and his sort.

Islam is actually a Christian heresy (as is your fundie friends’ sect, but they wouldn’t want to hear that). It was founded 6 centuries after the Catholic Church. Mohammed had a Christian wife from whose faith he took many elements. If you ever read the Qu’ran it reads like a long list of proverbs–there’s really nothing new in it. It’s just a mishmash of Judaism, Catholicism, and Mohammed’s own ideas.

Islam has many sects. One, Wahhabi, is the main source of modern terrorism in the world and is especially strong in Saudi Arabia which is where bin Laden and many of his followers came from. Just google search under “Wahhabi terrorism” and you’ll find lots of articles on it.

I did, and I asked to see their references … because I have been studying it, and I didn’t come across the totality that they were being taught in their Sunday School.

I will. But don’t hold your breath … I have asked on a number of occassions, material they were studying from about certain religions, and never saw one piece of paper.

Their church Pastor, ingrains in them, the evils of all religions, except Independant, Fundamentalist, Baptists. I wish it weren’t so … I pray for them always. We haven’t stepped foot into their church since the Pastor spoke untruths about ‘my’ Catholic faith. If it isn’t the Catholics they are persecuting, it is someone else.

Aren’t you kind. You must know by my message that I am truly concerned with my inlaws Pastor/Sunday School, teaching that Islam is evil and you all believe in destroying anyone but your faith memebers. I truly do not believe that, and I have read many articles in our Catholic Magazine’s that also acknowledge how I feel - that all Muslims aren’t evil.

It truly concerns me that people think this way … and that Pastors, teachers, would spread lies like this to their congregation. As soon as I get the info from my mother inlaw (if I do) I will present it on this thread. I have heard horrible lies from the same pastor about Catholics … why aren’t we doing more to stop this insanity.

I know that we all possess in our faiths, some members that are radical … but I think it is unfair to presume that everyone in that faith is that way.

Often, among these people I spoke of, I feel like the outsiders, because although I am a strong Catholic, I feel that people have a right to believe in their faith - without strong holding their will and making them see differently.

Some of the comments mentioned I will list and would appreciate your response.

3. You pray five times a day - and then go out and do whatever you want (sinning, etc.) — which I have heard the same group say about Catholics and confession.

I am thankful to you that you are tolerant enough to udnerstand that there is a hidden agenda behind vilifying your faith and my faith . Its really the same thing . The one good thing that comes from it is that we now both know who is the liar here. Its people who hate anything but their own belief . There is a difference between disagreeing with and and inciting on hating other people.

We believe in destroying no one really . It is absurd. If muslims believed in destroying there wouldnt be 6 million tourists to my country every year .

sisters muslims arent more evel than any other group. In every group of people you would have the good and the bad . Someone wants us weak so he can attack us and turn us to his faith . It was first Communism ( Not that i ever agreed with it ). Next Enemy is Islam . Then Catholicisism, then Judaism . And the rest for them is worthless easy to convert pagan religions.

Sister, in my country there are 7 million christians. They have been under muslim rule since 1400 years . If muslims wanted to anielate them they would have . Right from my balcony now tere is a big Orthodox church with an illuminated cross. In thsi small building that i am living in i have 5 Christian orthodox neighbours. You couldnt tell us from each other . You wouldnt know who is a muslim and who is a christian . When the Inquisition happened the Muslims took the Jews into Morroco. Thats why there are alot fo jews with Morrocon ancestry now . Come and visit my country and see for your self how muslims live and get to meet muslims and Godwillingly you will know who is really bieng oppurtunistic of the Current state of affairs in teh world for their own hateful agenda.

Sister, there is a difference between political struggles and hate for teh sake of hate or killing for the sake of killiing . Look at muslims in a neutral countries liek sweden , Norway , Finland . switzerland, Bulgharia, Greece. Portugal , the whole of south america , Sub saharan africa, Malasya, .

These are all places that dont have polical struggles . Thus doesnt have troubles and violence. But if you come to see places liek Iraq and palestine then ofcourse there will be much violence cause there is many politcial struggles for land and stuff going on .

Islam isnt a source of Violence , but it can be a power of conviction for someone who is defending his country .

The main reason for Violence isnt islam . Teh main reason for Violence is injustice and greiviences. Normally when people turn helpless and find no one supporting them liuke teh world done with palestinians they turn to the Lord to help them fight the oppressor. This idea isnt an islamic idea its there in every faith . Muslims dont have a hateful idiology of killing !!! This is somthing for you to vote republican or send yr son to war .

False . Suicide is Forbidden in Islam . But dying in battle isnt suicide .

The problem here isnt suicde. The problem here is the innocent civilians killed . People hate suicide bombers the most becasue they mostly hard to stop. If someone Guns people with a Machine Gun in a slaughter it would have the same effect nearly . So suicide bombers or not , this isnt the case , at least that is one violent person off. What is dangerous about them and thats why they are hated is that they are hard to stop . Before attacking on More than a Billion of people all over the world may be one can do some research on why people are so desperate so that they can die for their cause. and what we can do to correct world injustices that has been neglected so long .

Sister, when muslims took Jerusalem back from the crusaders they spared every life. When Crusaders attacked Jerusalem they killed every non Chrisian soul. Now i now this isnt what the Catholic faith preach ofcourse and i knwo this is all gone in the past . My point here is that Muslims showed enough all along history that they spare lives and accept more than many others did at the time.

This is a slick hit at what they called , work based faith .They wanna decieve themselves into beleiving that our works only can helkp us go tp heaven . We have to work and do good deeds because its our proof of love and because its an ethical duty to do good deeds. Muslims arent guaranteed anything by their work . Howevere the more they work for Allah the more he is pleased with them . But if they work infinitly and dont have proper belief then that wouldnt help them .

Well, if every body made sense to everybody wouldnt we all be one now?

If Protestants knwo what you knwo about catholicism then why arent they Catholics?

In every faith and religion there are people who have different views and interpretation about nearly everything .

But if people feel threatened by invasion and land grabbing you find many extremist views no matter how smnall in number rise on the surface. There are copuntries that Invaded IRAQ . Many people fight this invasion and feel they shoudl attack those countries that invaded them in their own lands.

Suddenly 1.5 Billion muslims have no voice and couple of thousands became the religion representatives.

Lets solve polictical problems first and dont judge a religion at the times of occupation and mess.

Ofcourse things dont make sense under occupation.

In the Koran it teaches for Moslems to kill the infidels. The moslem religion was started by violence. The creator of this false religion was violent and a peodiphile. If moslems say islam is peaceful then they are not true followers.
