I can’t see any reason that it should be. It’s unusual, but not a polarizing topic. I used google to search for “cilice” in “catholic.com” and got quite a few results, including posts from December 2008 google.com.au/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=site:catholic.com+cilice
