I believe you are referring to bigamy? If you are a Christian, then yes, it is a sin. If you are a Muslim or a schismatic Mormon, then it would be redefined as a polygamous marriage.
yes you are right, but the mormon say Our Lord was marred to many women

Just Need A Yes Or No.OR WHAT DOES YOUR CHURCH TEACH
As a Christian, I would have to look at the example set by Christ and the Apostles
No, it is not a sin to be married to more than one woman at a time, but only because this is an impossibility.

If the first marriage is valid, attempting to marry a second woman does not make her your “wife”.
But to attempt an answer to your question, I believe living with such as woman as if she were your wife would be a sin.
Excellent answer!! The same thinking can be used in reference to the current attempts to redefine marriage

but you are not teaching that Our Lord was married to many people

Yes.

If what I’ve read about Catholic teachign is anything to go by. I’ve read that marriage is between ONE man and ONE woman, ergo - any more women involved would make that marriage a sinful union.

Secondly its an offence to the dignity of the other women involved as the man can’t properly fulfil all the needs, emotion, physical, spiritual et cetera of his many wives. Not to mention, it would cause jealously and competition amongst his wives. Not a good foundation for a marriage.

I’m sure I saw this written in the catechism but I borrowed one from my mum and returned it a few montsh ago so I can’t go check now for you.

But end of the day - its a sin.

being a man i think you have sex with both and them and that goes againt t the 6 commandment and they say Our LORD WAS MARRIED TO MORE ONE

Kolob is the star nearest the throne of God.

Want to know where it is?

Well, before the Church existed, the patriarchs had multiple wives and concubines. I never saw condemnation for it when Christ came. I don’t think it was high on His priority list. Therefore, it’s not high on my priority list either.

Therefore, the answer to your question is:

No, it’s not a sin.
That is a very good reply. The conditions of sin and virtue do not change so much. If Abraham was allowed to marry more than one wife and so was jacob. It is alright even now. One should not take a strict stand on flimsy grounds, against polygmy without accusing the very senior beloved persons, men of God

Although, poor Solomon had so many wives and concubines that I don’t see how he kept up with all of them 😃 That must have been one very tired man. I just never saw the big deal myself. I learned all the OT stories and it just didn’t seem strange to me. These were great men in Scripture. I don’t advocate it, but neither do I condemn it.

This is a Mormon depiction of Jesus; I think the implications are apparent.

Creepy, no? Brigham Young not only taught that Jesus was a polygamist, but that this was the reason He was crucified.

I’m not sure what’s more disturbing about this picture–the idea that Jesus had romantic interests, or the fact that Mormons apparently think that blond, white women with Utah Mormon hairdos were commonplace in 1st century Palestine.

do you know the diff from the OT and the NT.

Brother MrDickerson:

Where did you find that WONDERFUL portrait of Jesus?

Please let me know.

Thanks

In the times and places where Heavenly Father commands more than one wife, it is not a sin. Consider the OT and 19th Century Mormon America. Consider that Jesus was probably married to Mary and Martha at Cana. Of course, in polygamous circumstancs, matrimonial LOVE is as crucial as in monogamous circumstances. Don’t you think it is more important to focus on the love between the husband and the wife or wives than upon the number of wives? Obviously, when God decrees monogamy, more than one wife is a sin.

As I recall the 1970s rock opera “Hair”, it says “Life is change. How different than the rocks.”

Bill do you believe any thing that is in the bible read commandment #6 you shall not commit adultrey and BTW be that you are sending me to hell can i save you a chair,GOD does not like cults

**Bill, you have asked me about the difference between OT and the NT. I feel that there should be no difference. Both are from God. God will not tell / teach one thing to one people and quite the opposite to another people.

I hope I have answered your question. If not, then you please explain everything that you know. At least OT preceded the NT and OT was given to a great Prophet Moses. The NT was developed by some unknown men (including one man of questionable past) long time after Jesus.**.
