Is justin timberlakes song bringing sexy back sinful? or no i think sexy could be another word for pretty
You are joking, right?
Dirty babe
You see these shackles
Baby I’m your slave
I’ll let you whip me if I misbehave
It’s just that no one makes me feel this way …
Let me see what you’re working with
Go ahead, be gone with it
Look at those hips
Go ahead, be gone with it
You make me smile
Go ahead, be gone with it
Go ahead child
Go ahead, be gone with it
And get your sexy on
Go ahead, be gone with it …
I’m bringing sexy back
Them other boys don’t know how to act
Come let me make up for the things you lack
Cause your burning up I gotta get it fast …
I’m bringing sexy back
Them other boys watch while I attack
If that’s your girl you better watch your back
Cause she’ll burn it up for me and that’s a fact …
No, boys and girls, in this song, sexy means… precisely what it is supposed to mean. Look it up…
Arousing or tending to arouse sexual desire or interest.
Concerned predominantly or excessively with sex; risqué: a sexy novel.
Sexually interesting or exciting; radiating sexuality: the sexiest professor on campus.
It is obvious that Justin Timberlake is not singing about his wife here. I also don’t think he is singing about a girl he has a serious intention of courting for a lifelong permanent marriage. Therefore, he is obviously objectifying her, using her for his own desire and possible pleasure.

Not good. Sinful.

Sincerely,

Dan

I had the same question before and googled to find out the reason:

source: torahatlanta.com/faqs.html

but Verisimilitude says he/she is Catholic not a Jew in profile.
God isn’t Gods real name though, it is YH*H…so its the same as Lord, or Adonai, or Maker of Heaven and Earth, etc…But the Tetragrammaton is his real name

Hot is an extremely derogatory term. It refers only to her physical attributes, implying desire to perform certain actions with her, and totally ignores her inner beauty and holiness.

I should also add that the name of God that jews are not allowed to pronounce is YHWH, but they use another instead: “Adonaï” or “the Lord”,… God is one of those substitution names.
I assume that G-d should be a typo 😉

Please give you reasons for your answer
I said it depends. In general, no. You are just saying, “Wow, she is really beautiful.” However, if you fall into a relationship with the girl, it should be deeper than her beauty. It must be on an emotional level as well as physical. This is not a sin for loving only her beauty, but will make for a shallow relationship that usually won’t last long.

Of course it is sinful, and also a sign of spiritual and social immaturity.

Calling a female hot reduces her to a piece of meat and objectifies her. Don’t degregate a woman by calling her physically hot and disregarding her inner beauty.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

What she is going through menopause (having hot-flashes) or has a fever?

What if you’re joking around with your wife? That could be a harmless (perhaps even pious) compliment if it’s born out of love (not out of sinful/selfish lust). Unfortunately, that’s probably rare.

In most circumstances I would say it’s sinful.

Calling a girl ‘hot’ reveals lust, which is sinful. It’s also vulgar. While by nature we might feel sexual impulses stirred at the sight of physically attractive people, we should keep our thoughts to ourselves and attempt to stop thinking that way.👍

I should tell that to the two gals I saw in a convertible today, both wearing bikini tops, that exercised some some “stretching” exercises at a red-light… much to the pleasure (air-horns & all) of the cement-mixer driver stuck next to them…

Two good looking gals ('HOT" by any man’s definition) that give a little “tease” of their femininity…
OK, by the rules it is wrong. End of story… I’ll agree.

But, as the guy in the vehicle behind the cement truck - honestly I kinda liked seeing a couple of good looking women getting a tan  … after 6 months of snow, ice & parka’s… bikini tops are kinda rare around here, and a good looking gal showing some boobage/cleavage is scarce!

Did I dwell upon it? No… Did I remember it? No…not until I decided to reply here (and remembered what I saw). Will I act upon it?.. No… well maybe with some increased libido if my wife is willing…

It just made me remember how wonderful woman can be (under the right circumstances), and appreciate why I’m attracted to them!

Wear a shapeless poncho, or go bare chested… make up your minds gals…don’t tease and give us guys a break.

I jokingly made a boast today and got a few laughs. Would it be a sin? :

“I have six girlfriends and five of them are hot!”

‘Hot’ is just the people’s vulgar nowadays to describe a girl even if they mean pretty or beautiful. It’s not a sin in admiring the girl. It is a sin however to lust away.

I’ve run into this situation. I prefer to use the term “pretty” or “attractive” rather than “hot”. “Hot” implies something sexual and even objectifying, while “pretty” and “attractive” don’t.
Using the word “hot” to describe a girl is almost always sinful, IMHO, since it connotes lust (either overtly or not) and objectifies her.

A sin? Not sure. I do, however, think using the term “hot” to describe a woman is a indicitive of a person who is objectifying them to some extent. Not saying you are disrespectful toward women, but that you might not be looking at females from the right reference point. As a man in his early twenties, I hear it a lot and can honestly say I’ve never heard the term “hot” used to describe a woman with whom the man had completely chaste thoughts about. I’ve never heard “That girl is so hot, I want to go and have a deep conversation with her.” You get the picture. I try to call beautiful women beautiful. It’s a flattering term that encompasses more than physical attractiveness. Hope this was helpful.
