Moderate tobacco use is not a sin, so no. Assuming you’re of legal age, it’s not a problem. Assuming also it’s tobacco…

It’s neither more nor less sinful than smoking a cigarette, cigar, cigarillo, or pipe. I am assuming that you would be smoking tobacco, not cannabis or opium, both of which can also be smoked through a hookah. Be aware that sharing a hookah with others can expose you to additional health risks, principally contracting a disease spread through the mouth (e.g. if you use the same pipe as somebody who has herpes). I wouldn’t do it myself for health reasons, but I’m sure it’s not a sin. I know a monk who smokes cigars, so I assume it’s ok!

I don’t think it’s a sin, but it’s not good for your health.

well i probably won’t do it my self but i think of going just for the company of my friends

It’s not a sin to go to a shisha bar. I quite enjoyed smoking the shisha pipe on occasion when I went to grad school in London.

Emphasis on the words “on occasion” because as much as I liked them, they were a bit like like smoking an entire pack of cigarettes at once. I would probably only smoke on a rare occasion now.

It’s not like you actually have to smoke if you’re just with your friends.

I don’t see what about it could possibly be sinful. Why do you think it might be?

I dont see anything inherently sinful here. A waste of time and money maybe, but sinful, no.

Do you believe tobacco smoking to be sinful? Of course alcohol is literally a poison. So that would count as well. As well as McDonalds fries right?

The precious blood? Passover? Grilling a chicken on the bbq, char is a carcinogen. I’m guessing it would be impossible for you to follow your own judgement here…

I wouldn’t get scrupulous but I am pretty health conscious. If the body is a temple, would you smoke in it?

I dont smoke. I dont drink. I think choosing to smoke cigarettes at a young age is potentially sinful for the reason you gave. From a secular standpoint I find smoking pretty much in any form to be lowbrow. But to call going to a hookah bar self abuse… nope.

I dont know much about it but isnt it more potent than cigarettes which come on packs with warnings on the side?

Cigarettes are pretty much the worst of any tobacco. By a mile. Because of the additives. I mean like by a mile…

I gave my position. Many saints and popes smoked and drank. Drinking to the point if intoxication is a sin. Flirting with addiction to tobacco is a sin as well. The OP wanted to know if simply going to a hookah bar was sinful. That makes no sense if one was going to a regular bar or a place that cooked food that had high fat content. Its what you do in the realm of excess that can endanger your body.

Tell that to the Pope who beatified Pier Giorgio Frassati, who loved a good pipe or cigar.
