So, I spent a night with a girl, and I told her I did not believe in pre-marital sex, but we still did some stuff, groping and all. Is this a sin?

Yes, sexual pleasure divorced from it’s proper context is intrinsically disordered.

Yes…in the area of mortal sin.

This can be of help…

ewtn.com/expert/answers/dating.htm from a writer at EWTN …it will be of great help!

(One note though on this reading…I would note that when they say “as soon as he begins to enjoy…” under “pure intent”… it would mean before knowing consent…)

Glad your resisted pre-marital sex. 👍 I would encourage you to full chastity… with Joy in Christ…in him is true life.

It is a sin to give into temptation and to cause others to be tempted by doing so.

It is also a sin to spend the night with someone who isn’t one’s spouse.
Apart from the sin of putting oneself deliberately in a position where we will be tempted to sin,
our doing so causes the other person to be tempted to sin.

From the Catechism of the Catholic Church

1868 Sin is a personal act. Moreover, we have a responsibility for the sins committed by others when we cooperate in them:

Hopefully, any Catholic who does this will go to Confession and confess these sins, and determine not to do it again.

May God bless you and protect you.

Too far. The line between groping and sex is a very difficult one to separate once you’re groping her. You’re doing yourself a disservice.

It is good to make women feel beautiful; all of them, including your mother.
But, you wouldn’t go grabbing-up on dear old ma! You are better off observing feminine reactions to various challenges you present them with.

Groping is easy. It’s easier still to advoid it. The larger issue at hand is spending the night with her. A manly man knows how to swoon a woman without keeping constant bodily proximity. Ultimately, from the woman’s perspective having her mind be worked over is significant. This is what she is after when you spend the night with her. Considering that it is her mind, it follows you don’t actually have to be there… because she can fancy you in dreams and hug her pillow. It is no secret that men seek bodily affection as a re-assurance to their confidence. What is more difficult, and more important, on your part is to acquire confidence even when seperated from the woman you seek.

In short, love thyself by strengthening the attribute that is what you’ll need, in long run, to maintain her respect for you. Respect is everything. Once it is lost it almost never recovered. Challenge her, make her feel attractive by genuinely striving to find Christ in her, and she will respect you. A man knows how to keep his hands to himself. As a rule let this guide you: Women may touch men, but men may not touch back unless she offers her hand.

And… keep your eyes to yourself. Everytime you entertain some fancy a chemical is released in your brain. It is addictive, on par with cocaine! (The name escapes me at the moment). Overtime the combination of viewing and chemical release actually conditions you to develop an inability to see others as the Image of God, and more as objects of desire, something to be grasped at. Unless the chemical release is trained early on a feedback loop can begin. Major emotional and sexual identity dysfunction follows and only mortification and counseling will remedy it. Fortunately, most folks break the vice early before it grows out of control by exercising self-control; that is, mortification of the flesh (fasting, alms, and prayer).

If you didn’t know you were doing something of grave matter, as is the case here, than you did not committ mortal sin.

Some really wise words here. Take them to heart. Indeed men who grope women are not the kind of men who would get a lasting and good respect from ladies.

Its easy to use people, but real men and women take the serious task of getting to know people, loving them, respecting them etc.

One day you will meet your bride, and believe me, she will be more happy and peaceful in her mind knowing you didn’t grope other girls.

Very nicely said!
