Is it a sin to have a dragon tattoo?

Is a tattoo of a dragon in any way sinful; or directly or indirectly Satanic?

A 23 year old Catholic male friend of mine has three medium size tattoos. One is a cross…another is a dragon. He does not want to look at himself in the mirror because of the evil he now sees in the dragon. I suggested that he discuss this with a priest. I told him I would contact Catholic.com…Please respond.

Hi,

I would not have encouraged him to get the tattoo, but it is not a sin to have it. I can understand his not wanting to look at it. But as long as he is in the state of grace (free of mortal sin) he belongs to God and Satan has no power over him.
