Not entirely sure if it is an actual sin. However I am almost certain that the church forbids it. It definitely causes a risk to sin (i.e. temptation) against the 6th commandment.First of all thanks for the answers…& Yes, I obviously know how they would feel about this. and yes growing up they did tell us stuff and teach us but, it was always don’t do this don’t do that. Because you will be a bad person. (They were the type of parents you couldn’t question)…
It also opens up a myriad of other temptations (e.g. see book link below). We are only human and it is only a matter of time before our human weaknesses give in. All it takes is one mistake. The wise thing to do is not go there in the first place.

In the (long forgotten) days of strict catholic culture, the boy and girl would not even be under the same roof after about 9pm.
I think the primary danger is sins against purity. I have heard that it also takes away the joy of “newness” out of a marriage (almost like starting the marriage before the wedding). But no explanation to why its wrong or anything like that … But, if i do make the decision to, would i be living in sin? and why is that?..
(By the way, the above post by PennyinCanada contains some valuable information and definitely worth a read).
