Did he mean his parents were making him go to church ? Or he’s going to bomb a church ? I know what the f meant, but the bomb threw me.

he ment he had to go
Ok.
Gosh, as Tweety said, praying for him will help. Perhaps you could point out to him that compared to what Jesus endured for our sake, accepting our Sunday obligation is a fairly light cross to bear.

Offer to go with him next Sunday. Perhaps attend Mass at a parish you two have never been to before. Whatever it takes.

Josh,

There are a couple of things going on here so let’s separate them.

(1) Your friend used profanity, and referenced Church using that profanity. Many times young people like showing off by using bad words-- they think it makes them sound grown up. And, with those types of words on TV every day some don’t even know it’s really wrong. So, out of charity you could let your friend know that it’s offensive to you that he use profanity towards God and church. Tell him you like going to church.

(2) You playing a game you borrowed from him is a separate issue. No, there is nothing wrong with doing so.

(3) You have posted several posts asking if something was a sin. I suggest you go talk to your priest about things. I think it’s good that you ask, but developing a relationship with your priest may help him to see patterns in what you are asking about regarding sinfulness. Some people are overly worried about sinning to the point of thinking they are constantly sinning. Others have an underdeveloped conscience and think that they never sin. A good priest can help you develop yourself spiritually.
