Is it a sin to read the little note in a Fortune Cookie?

Another little fun application on my phone allows me to open a cookie to read the fortune…so is reading it either from my phone or from a real fortune cookie after lunch or dinner alright? Or is it considered playing with the occult?

Had you simply stuck with the ancient original version of cell phone, you would not be troubled by all its many innovations it has today.

It’s a sin if you base your life and plans on a fortune cookie, or 8-ball or any other “divining” activities. If you take it as a joke and disbelieve it could in any way influence your life, then it is not a sin to look at a fortune cookie after a chinese meal. Just realize that who really can change your life and future is God. Only put your faith and belief in God, not in fortune cookies or 8-balls or anything else like that.

if you just do it for fun, then no

I love my phone! And the Apps.

Since I asked about the Magic 8 Ball and got some very interesting answers, I figured I should start a thread about the “Fortune Cookie” too! lol

Personally, I think both are just fun and games. No harm.
