Is it a sin to receive Communion at a Methodist ceremony?

My Catholic daughter attended a small Methodist univeristy and participated in the Christian Center group at that college. when she graduated, they had a ceremony for them where they prayed for them and told how they felt about them. As part of that, they had what I now realize was a Communion service. At the time, I was thinking of it as part of the ceremony and so my family and I went forward to recieve the bread they gave as communion. Thinking back, I now feel extremely guilty about this and feel I lead my family into sin. Was this a sin?
