Is it a sin to smoke marijuana

this is coming from someone who started smoking at 15. from the age of 17 til’ the age of 21 I was pretty much high every day. All day every day. I think that would make me a pretty valid authority on marijuana. I think if it were legalized, and treated like alcohol, it could be a good thing. however here’s the truth.

Most people who smoke are addicts in denial. Now, for the last 2-3 years I’ve been an occasional user. I have the ability to just smoke a little bit at a party and leave it at that. I had a realization. It puts you in a state that you don’t need to be in. It takes all the life right out of me. I went to a party with lots of smoking going on, and I didn’t smoke. I just had 2-3 drinks that night. Kept it on the sip. I was more alive, rapping on the mic with the band, doing karaoke, meeting and talking to everyone. Having a good time. Women were more attracted to me. People were more drawn to me. All the smokers, were just in their own little smoker world. Most of the smokers there didn’t even believe in God.

If I were up in the mountains, or in a beautiful place, and were to sit down and meditate. I can see smoking a little to increase that. I believe in the beginning God gave us the herbs like it says in genesis. I did a lot of soul searching on marijuana, and it did eventually help bring me to God. Do this though. Smoke a little weed, and go to the adoration chapel. That’ll answer your question right there.

There IS a substance that we need to feel “high”. There is something we partake in, that can take that urge from you. It’s called the eucharist. As a drug addict for many years, the Eucharist appeals to me.

“You mean I eat this, and it brings me closer to God? I might understand that.”

We’ve all got to go through our little journies. Marijuana certainly seems to be a part of that for most people. Deal with God though. Don’t let it be a distraction. Eventually you’ll outgrow it. Sometimes we’re supposed to feel pain. It’s a necessary thing. We are not in heaven, that’s painful. Marijuana gives you a taste of heaven. Why settle for the crumbs though?

The indians smoked marijuana, but only on special occasions. They used it as a reminder of God, and to learn. They didn’t smoke it frequently though. It most certainly is not a recreational thing. Our society today makes it that. Imagine if people knew what the eucharist really was. They’d be selling it in the streets.

If you let it build slowly, God can give you that high. By doing God’s work I slowly get that feeling. I feel HIGH. Yet I haven’t been smoking. People think I’m on drugs, I’ve been accused many times. I’m just on God. Before Jesus: marijuana gets you high. After Jesus: marijuana brings you down.

I think it’s venial. Don’t worry about the marijuana. Just work towards God, and eventually you wont need it. That’s coming from someone who used to search for pieces of herb on the carpet (I’d find it too! haha).

If it’s not addictive, than how come everybody I know can’t stop? “I just like it” is addiction speaking. Don’t be fooled. It tricks your mind not your body. Which is far more dangerous.

there are two occasions where it might be acceptable. One, if it gets you into a circle of people so that you can preach. I’ll sit there and smoke with people, and talk about God with them. It makes it easy to bring up God. Two: I used to walk/bike 7 miles a day on the regular. Poverty is painful. I smoked a lot to help cure my physical pain from constantly having to push my body.

It’s a psychedelic drug. After a few years of regular use: you become psychotic. It takes years for your brain to recover from that. Being psychotic is not a good thing. Hearing voices and seeing things is not a good thing. You might have never heard of that, but that’s because most people don’t quit smoking. Lots of people go through it though. It makes you bi-polar. It lowers the testosterone in your body. It’s not healthy. People look and sound SICK when they smoke weed. Look at their faces. Either psycho looking, or they look like they’re in pain. Next time you smoke some really good herb: look in the mirror.
