Is it a sin to support/ donate American Heart Association?

It seems like they have expressed public support for human embryonic stem cell research.

It is not a sin to support a group who does good just because they do evil on one end, if our intention is to support the good they do. It is call “indirect cooperation with evil”.

Some chose to boycott such groups. If we were to boycott all groups that do not fully embrace Catholic faith and morals, who would we support besides some Catholic ministries?

Now, if one supports a group specifically because they endorse something sinful then one is actively cooperating in the evil, and that can be a sin if it is done with full knowledge.

In your example:

• if you support AHA because they do research on heart disease and make their results available to the public for free (unlike many universities), it is not a sin, but a great good.
• if you support AHA specifically because they endorse embryonic stem cell research, then objectively an evil is being actively endorsed. Whether it is a sin or not, depends on whether you do it with full knowledge and deliberate consent.
