Its not a sin to simply speak in church. There’s lots of legitimate reasons we might have to speak to someone or some group of people while in a church. However, generally speaking, we should have a sense of reverence and awe when in a church because Jesus Christ is present in the tabernacle. Idle chit chat as if we are waiting in line at the movies or needless talking that disturbs the prayer time of others can be a sin of irreverence.
