Is it a sin to use marijuana?

In western countries, it is not uncommon to see people consuming alcohol, both for the flavor and for the relaxing effects. As long as alcohol is used in moderation, it is not considered to be a sin, even though it is a chemical that alters the normal functions of the body. Marijuana is another substance that alters the mind and when used moderately, does not have any devastating effects. This being said, is it a sin to use marijuana or no?
