I know there have been many posts on Sunday obligation. I’ve read a good deal of them, but I’m still unsure… What if I really intend to go to Mass, but then miss the bus? (The next bus would bring me there a quarter of an hour before the end, which would not fulfill Sunday obligation).
That kind of thing happens, even to people who are not ill. My own logic tells me it would be a venial sin whose gravity depends on how hard I tried (did I go to bed too late, did I dawdle getting ready, …?), but still my conscience troubles me and I would hesitate to receive Our Lord before I could confess. What’s right?
