(This is a bit long, but please read on… )

I was baptized when very small, at around 4 years old. My mother is a devoted catholic. For around more than 10 years I followed my mother to attend Mass every Sunday. I always heard Bible stories and listened to Priests teaching during mass, however, I did not understand much. I only knew there was God, for most parables I did not understand fully. I joined Legion of Mary for a few years.

One year, I had accident and nearly dead, I fallen unconcious in locked room in my relatives house, what I remember is I prayed and suddenly they came in to save me within a few minutes. I would have died if they came in few minutes later, as I breathed in CO toxic. I did not know that’s God saved me.

However, then starting from late secondary schools I was busy for study and at times I suspected and left church for many years. From born until last year, I did not feel any personal experience with God.

Until last year, my father passed away, however, God saved his soul. My father never believe in God and was an atheist. He got baptized 2 months before he passed away, he finished almost all sacraments including Baptism, Holy Communion, Confirmation, Anoiting of Sick 2 weeks before God took him away.

After that period, I prayed and asked God where is my father and how I should overcome all these, Then I opened Bible, God revealed to me the first few pages was about Eternal Life and Resurrection. For those few months, God revealed to me 3 times the same thing (Eternal Life and Resurrection) in different paragraphs, because I asked God for 3 times the same question.

That is the first time God responded me.

I thanked God, and prayed and asked Him how I should thank Him. In the bible, He revealed to me for “serving the weak and the poor”. I then continued to do service for weak and poor, and the Church.

When I worried many things about my living changed including money problem, then He revealed to me that (in Bible) “Don’t worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food and the body more than clothing? And why do you worry about clothes? Learn how the wildflowers of the field grow: they don’t labor or spin thread. If that’s how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and thrown into the furnace tomorrow, won’t He do much more for you.”

I was devoted much in Prayer then, one night I prayed Rosary as usual, nearly fallen asleep, I heard Mary’s physical voice spoke clearly to my ear, saying “You should give up all worldly things on earth.” This woke me up and I was shocked. I then talked with the priests and sisters, and started my vocational discernment.

A few months ago, I had eye disease that part of my vision of that eye is missing, then I saw doctor earlier than booked, I was really fearful and prayed, then I opened Bible, God revealed to me “Honour the physician for the need thou hast of him: for the most High hath created him. For all healing is from God, and he shall receive gifts of the king. The skill of the physician shall lift up his head, and in the sight of great men he shall be praised. The most High hath created medicines out of the earth, and a wise man will not abhor them.” Then I heard in mind that God asked me to have Faith, and be patient. After a few weeks my eye was healed.

Sometimes when I was angry with some people, I heard God’s voice in mind: " Forgive them."

Once when I feel very lonely and think I have no much dear friends, I heard God’s voice in mind “I am with you everyday, until the end of this life!”

A few days ago, at night I discovered I had lost my staff card and very worried, I prayed and asked God to tell me where it is or help me to keep it. Then immediately I heard God’s voice in mind: “Do not worry. You will see it on your desk when you back office tomorrow morning! Someone found it and put it on your desk.” Then the next morning, when I back office, I saw it really on my desk!!

I did not experience Conversation with God before last year, only starting from last year I always heard God communicate with me, at first was through Bible, later directly communicate with me in my mind.

God is Too Perfect Too Good - He saved me from death, and saved my father’s soul; When I feel lost and sad, He told me and confirmed me there was Eternal life; When I worried, He told me not to worry anything! When I feel fearful about my eye disease, He comforted me to trust doctor and Him, at last He did healed me; When I asked how to thank Him, He asked me to Serve His People; When I lost something, He told me where it is and comfort me!! My Love to God grow day by day…

It was really amazing!!!.. I wonder if God communicate with everyone or it is a special blessing for me? 🙂

Thank you all for reading…

This is a fairly unique phenomena. I would strongly suggest you discuss your experience(s) with a priest, even obtain a spiritual director who can help you discern these locutions and their meanings in your life.

Gabrielle Bossis had similar experiences, which she documented in He and I. That is exceptionally rare, though by no means unheard of, and if it is indeed true, is a very wonderful blessing. Be sure to find a trusted priest to serve as a spiritual director, and be sure to practice discernment.

What a fascinating account of your experiences. I have only once had the impression that God was guiding me to something through the Bible. My father died suddenly just after his 70th birthday, long before I became a Catholic. He had been telling me just before his birthday that ‘you only get three-score years and ten’. I felt he was a bit depressed, he was the main carer for my disabled mum and he worried about not being there for her. He hadn’t been ill before his death.

They lived several hundred miles away from me, so I didn’t see him on the day he died. When I came home from the funeral a week after his death, I returned to my office (a large one, which was for my sole use) and opened a drawer in the big old desk. Right at the back, I found a small Bible, which I hadn’t noticed before. There was a slip of paper in it.

I opened the Bible at the slip of paper, and immediately read this from Psalm 90:10:
The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
I felt that God was telling me that my father’s time had come, and that although his death was unexpected to us, it wasn’t really unexpected. It shook me at the time. The Bible had apparently always been in the desk, under other papers left there by the previous job-holder.

You may not be able to prove it, but it comes across to you as a special blessing. To me it seems God’s works have individual impacts on people so nobody else may see your exact POV on it. But that still doesn’t take away the experience of being loved by God, and who is to say that experience isn’t “authentic” according to some “objective” measure?

I’d suggest taking it as if it were personal communication. So what if you’re wrong? 🙂

Now if you wrote a book about it and organized a movement and started making membership rules and required prayer routines and stuff, then I’d say you have better first do some fact checking. 😉

I believe that God communicates with us and with each of us it is unique in how He calls to us. He knows that your heart is open – it is not enough to have head knowledge – God wants our hearts and it is there that He transforms us – from the inside out.

I believe that God is very much alive and present to us - He is always seeking us and communicating His Love to us – What is unique is that you have eyes that see and ears that hear - There were many saints that had that special relationship - St. Faustina for one. I keep saying that I am going to read her diary – I think I will write it down so that I remember! There are also many saints in the making like you who are open to God’s presence in our lives. I think they are called “consolations” they are little gifts that He sends to communicate with you.

When my father died I was very sad and asked God to send me a sign that everything was ok and a cardinal flew past. What is unique about that is that my father loved birds and the cardinal was one of his favorites and he could whistle perfectly the sound of a cardinal and I knew that God was with me and everything would be ok. This little sign that He sent was a way for God to give me peace in my sorrow. birdjam.com/birdsong.php?id=3
John 16:16-20
The Disciples’ Grief Will Turn to Joy
Jesus went on to say, “In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me.”
At this, some of his disciples said to one another, “What does he mean by saying, ‘In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me,’ and ‘Because I am going to the Father’?” They kept asking, “What does he mean by ‘a little while’? We don’t understand what he is saying.”
Jesus saw that they wanted to ask him about this, so he said to them, “Are you asking one another what I meant when I said, ‘In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me’? Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy.

In fact as i type this, I hear out my window the sound of many birds enjoying the morning – God gives us many beautiful gifts and signs that He is with us always. It is a joy to be aware of His Presence in a world that needs Him so desperately.birdjam.com/birdsong.php?id=3 peace2U

It is hard to tell the priests about it… I think they always communicate with God… There was once in a retreat a Sister taught me how to communicate with God…

Im not sure if this is exceptionally rare, but I think Priests and Sisters always communicate with God… Im in vocation discernment process, it is hard to distinguish, but my relationship with God becomes closer 🙂

I believe your experience was what God intended to let you know - “The days of our years are threescore years and ten”. Absolutely, my father was discovered cancer at 71 and passed away at 74, we prayed for him for 3 years. I guess God give us mercy and extend his timing with us for 3 more years, then letting him to get baptized and finished all Last Rites in order to save his soul.

One day I asked God: “Why did you take him away instead of curing his diseases?” I heard God saying in my mind : “Everyone has his own lifetime. He really suffered much, if I extend his time he only suffered. It is the time.”

Later I read some articles written by Saints saying, if someone died in a state of sin, that one would be in purgatory. But if died in a state which his sins are cleansed, that souls spend very short time in purgatory or go up heaven directly.

Then I realised why God chose that time to take him away right after finishing all his Last Rights/ Sacraments (in a state without sins).
😊

Yes I treat it as my personal communication with God. 🙂

What do you mean by “wrote a book about it and organized a movement and started making membership rules and required prayer routines and stuff” ? i dun understand

Correct. Everytime I prayed and my heart is fully opened and patient for His Reply to me. (I read from somewhere that - God will only talk to you only when you are Ready to hear.)

I did not encounter that before, or maybe I am more eager to listen to Him. Because I love and seek Him more this year. :o

I have read Diary by St Faustina, it is a great book. St. Faustina even could see Jesus. So amazing.

I guess the birds and cardinal is a sign sent from God to you too. 👍

I think I worded it poorly. All I meant was that it’s for your consumption, and not necessarily the “basis of a new religion” or something, and that as long as you are not trying to use it as a platform to preach to others then to me it sound like a Wonderful Thing. 🙂

I did not intend to imply you were considering it that way, but others have done such things and I can just imagine a movie script about it. 😉

Actually that’s what I understand about the visions and private revelations of the saints. The fact that they had such visions, doesn’t mean they are binding on anyone or even meaningful to anyone, but they are for the saints themselves to have witnessed.

Oh I got your meaning… you mean it’s wonderful if what I experienced is true…

I’d even say I can’t tell if it is “true” or not, but it was “true” that the Lord arranged for, or at least allowed, for me to have had that experience. So to me, even the thought of it can be inspiring, but whether others agree with you is irrelevant because the vision/experience was for you.

So like when the saints have them, I think they are inspiring because they show where their minds have been. But for example, St. Faustina had visions of Purgatory, if I’m not mistaken, that were kind of odd to me and I didn’t get any noticeable understand from them. Which is why there are so many of them; because there are so many of us and so many ways to worship.
