Is it a universal custom in the Catholic faith to say a novena of rosaries after someone dies?

I’m Hispanic and as far back as I can remember, a novena of rosaries has been prayed for the dead right after being buried. I’m curious to know if it’s just a Hispanic thing, or does every Catholic and their families do this?

While it has fallen out of practice in many Western Catholic cultures, it is a traditional pius custom of many cultures.
