We are expecting the birth of our first child in about 1 month. We have already selected my brother as the Godfather. My brother, his wife and children are practicing Roman Catholic who has made all of their sacraments (except for Holy Orders and Anointing of the Sick.)
Regarding the Godmother, we have two potential candidates. One is a practicing Roman Catholic who has made all of her sacraments except for Holy Orders and Anointing of the Sick and the other is Baptist. Her and her husband (both Baptist) actively participate in their church and are bringing up their sons in their church as well. Both, the Roman Catholic and Baptist were selected because we feel they are solid candidates with strong family and Christian values. However, we are looking to make decision in the best interest of our child. Our child will spend more time and have a better relationship with the Baptist Candidate and we feel that the stronger personal relationship with the Baptist would better serve our child. Is it acceptable to have one Baptist and One Roman Catholic Godparent?
