This past Sunday, I noticed that a couple people were selling snacks out of food carts on the sidewalk outside our diocesan cathedral after mass. There are a lot of Hispanics in my city, and this seemed to be part of a regular tradition that they have. (This happened after a Spanish language mass, and everyone buying and selling was Hispanic. It reminded me of the people I saw selling Catholic art outside a cathedral in Cuenca, Ecuador after mass.) I’d like to give the food vendors some business, and I’d also like to try out their wares. Is that okay? Is there anything wrong or improper with what they’re doing?
