The “devil’s dyad” or whatever other name it’s gone under?
I don’t recognize it, but to me it sounds like something from a not very good movie. Another possibility is that this is what you get when you commission an original composition on the average parish’s liturgy budget. Two thumbs down.Speaking of dissonance, I’m still trying to find out what is the organ music played starting at 41:15 for the procession…
Music, in the sense of notes only and no lyrics or images encouraging sinful behavior, does not cause people to sin.And if so, does it have any relation to causing the listener to sin, (losing control, feeling rage, feeling suicidal)?
Maybe 10 years ago, our choir director tried a new setting of the Litany of the Saints for the Easter Vigil. It was not a hit and was not repeated in any other years. My feeling at the time was that the one we have been using for 1000 years or so was met with resistance the first time it was used. A lot of us just don’t like change, and it is not just us old folks.Just think, if we’d had CAF hundreds of years ago, there would be a dozen threads of people arguing about polyphony and calling it liturgical abuse.
Seems like the more things change, the more they stay the same
