Is it allowable to use birth control for health reasons?

I have a question about birth control. I understand why it is not accepted in a marriage because it undermines the relationship of the couple aside from prohibiting conception granted by God. I am not in a marriage and so could not conceive. I am taking oral contraceptives to control hormone related migraines. My friend was proscribed them for her endometriosis. Is this still a violation of church law when it is not prohibiting conception? Along that line, would women who have hysterectomies for medical reasons fall under this same law as prohibiting conception?
