Is it bad for kids to watch rated r movies?

I know it may seem like an obvious answer to my question but, im an older sister and have a youger brother and sister who like to watch monster movies and zombie movies. Im a pretty strong catholic and so is my family…we dont allow them to watch anything sexual. We tell them to cover their eyes, in fact we all do. i always explain to them that this is not real but in this world many people do say bad words, and do things that are against god. I know all kids are curious about the world and sometimes hiding it from them makes them more interested in it or gets them into trouble. So im trying to always answer there questions if they have any. Is this wrong? Please let me know.🙂 God Bless
