Do as you must, it may be worth considering this advice

Peace

"During the last six thousand years nations have hated one another, it is now time to stop. War must cease. Let us be united and love one another and await the result. We know the effects of war are bad. So let us try, as an experiment, peace, and if the results of peace are bad, then we can choose if it would be better to go back to the old state of war! Let us in any case make the experiment. If we see that unity brings Light we shall continue it. For six thousand years we have been walking on the left-hand path; let us walk on the right-hand path now. We have passed many centuries in darkness, let us advance towards the light.

Question.—(It was remarked, Theosophy teaches that truth in all the religions is the same): Does the task of unifying all religions have ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s sympathy?

Answer.—Surely.

Question.—Can ‘Abdu’l-Bahá suggest any lines on which it could best be worked out?

Answer.—Search for truth. Seek the realities in all religions. Put aside all superstitions. Many of us do not realize the Reality of all Religions".

Change starts in our won hearts 😊

God Bless and Regards Tony
Still there can be only one Truth. Ephesians 4: 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all 7 But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift.

The common denominator has to be CHRIST

Absolutely Even So!

Please note that the common denominator in John the Baptists existence was the Prophet Elijah.

Are we therefore saying that Jesus was incorrect in saying that John the Baptist was the return of Elijah?

.

False. Christianity is rather unique in our assertion that God is Love. Islam says that “God is great” but does not say that “God is Love”.
What do you understand to be the difference between the terms “God is love” and the term “God is the All-Loving”??

Thanks.

Sorry, Servant, but Wikipedia is not my source of information when referring to history, i.e., try reading Thomas Madden or William Carroll or some other historian who can put into perspective in what manner Islam spread.

p.s. They were conquering vast territories which enabled them to convert by way of coercion/violence (generally speaking).
Dear Josie, what Muslims conquering countries long after Muhammad died is not to be interpreted as official teaching of Islam.

As I said, we can easily resort to pointing out extremism in Christianity when it comes to coercion or violence to convert. Charlemagne, King of the Franks, the Saxon Wars, the Goa Inquisition, and lets not forget what I mentioned about the indigenous populations of Australia. I know, personally, close friends who’s grandparents were forced to convert to convert to Catholicism. So coercion must be part of Catholic teaching too right?

Let us be fair.

You can look at historians who focus on the later years of Islamic history where, just like Catholicism, mistakes were made by those not practicing the official teachings.

Let me state again, the official teaching of Islam is that “let there be no compulsion in religion”

Muhammad, during His lifetime showed the way. He defended Himself and Muslims, by the leave of the same Old Testament God and enabled Moses and the Jews to defend themselves. The Muslims were being persecuted by the idolators. Summayyah bint Khayyat was the first person killed during Muhammad’s Dispensation and it is against these sorts of persecutions of Muslims which occurred again and again which Muhammad was enabled and given permission, by God, to defend the religion of God, JUST THE SAME AS WHEN MOSES WAS DOING THE SAME against the Midianites and other tribes etc, as recorded in clear language in the Old Testament.

If you would like a clear, non-Wiki source of early Islam history, you can look at:

Lings, Martin. Muhammad: His life based on the earliest sources. pp. 79, 80. ISBN 978-0946621330.

It is relevant. If Thomas Madden, or William Carroll have anything more relevant to the life of Muhammad, then please quote them here.

Yes and it is a shame mankind has to face that even today in this world, there are people still practicing Slavery.

You mean like the Islamic world which has a superior religion and spirituality (by Bahai understanding)?

I’m sorry I don’t quite get why this was brought up in the first place. Is the thread still about whether or not it is okay to like Islamic Spirituality? I haven’t heard a satisfying response to my accusation that the God of Islam denies the love of Christ.

Dear IgnatianPhilo - It was brought up by another poster you answered my reply to them. Point was made and now move on.

I would suggest it is as this net opinion says;

Muslims respect and revere Jesus (peace be upon him). They consider him one of the greatest of God’s messengers to mankind. The Quran confirms his virgin birth, and a chapter of the Quran is entitled ‘Maryam’ (Mary). The Quran describes the birth of Jesus as follows:

(Remember) when the angels said, “O Mary, God gives you good news of a word from Him (God), whose name is the Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, revered in this world and the Hereafter, and one of those brought near (to God). He will speak to the people from his cradle and as a man, and he is of the righteous.” She said, “My Lord, how can I have a child when no mortal has touched me?” He said, “So (it will be). God creates what He wills. If He decrees a thing, He says to it only, ‘Be!’ and it is.” (Quran, 3:45-47)

That they have a different way to view that than the Church does, IMHO It in no way takes away from the Love they Have for Jesus.

My friend, you are switching the subject. I will say we do have in common no body here worships John the Baptist or Elijah. What we do not have common is the worship of our LORD JESUS. Please tell me where JESUS said that, would you ? Do you not find it odd that Mohammed has a grave while JESUS doesn’t ? JESUS performed all the miracles and healing while Mohammed had none. Why does Mohammed not get the glory? JESUS mentions Jerusalem so many times yet I believe it is never mentioned by name once in the Quran? The entire OT was about the coming of Messiah. Just who would that Messiah be, friend Servant? He is the one we will all bow before and confess He is LORD ! Even so, come LORD JESUS ! My friend, will you be sure about eternity and ask him to be your LORD and Savior? Please pray to Allah about it. Then, if you don’t get an answer for some time, please pray to GOD in JESUS’ name to reveal it to you. You know, I have a healthy envy of you. Muslims are the ones i hear are most often having dreams and visions of JESUS. These are the last days! Ref Acts 2:17; Joel 2:28. Amen!

I find it odd that everything was revealed to Muhammed some 600 yrs after CHRIST was born. JESUS CHRIST is the last true Prophet to come. In Christianity, I doubt those who have startling new revelations and try to add to what JESUS said. These also have come in the last few centuries, and I believe we were warned about that in Rev 22:18-19. Matthew 24 is a good read. I do trust what was originally written by the apostles of the day. We discern differently, unfortunately.

Since you brought up this proclamation, I will start a new thread. The Thread will be to the consideration of prophesy. Regards Tony

Maybe you wish to consider the reality of Krishna who gave the same things to humanity as Jesus, but centuries before 🙂

No tomb, no grave, He still lives.
