Are you able to go for just part of the day? Maybe spend an hour or so. That way you can spend some time with your family, but still keep the day appropriately

Thank you everyone for your guidance. I was baptised Catholic, but didn’t grow up going to church or anything, and I only made the decision to follow the faith properly a few months ago, and I don’t have any Catholic friends (or a family that practices properly, it seems). So things like this can be really confusing!
Unfortunately, it is also a reason for my family to not take me seriously, or to say that I am a hypocrite etc because I don’t take communion (because I haven’t yet completed the RCIA). But I feel it would be wrong for me to use my lack of initiation as an excuse - I have made the decision to become initiated, so I should follow the rules from now, not from some point in the future.
I think I will follow the advice of several of you, and cheerfully participate in the secular celebration, but abstain from meat, only eat a small meal, and go to a church service. The lunch is apparently at 12, so a 3pm service should be easy enough to get to. I’m not a minor, so I can drive myself there.

How do you “celebrate” if you don’t have a priest who is willing to offer an Easter Mass on Good Friday?? 
Why sure, you can do things like buy foods from the grocery store and “celebrate” that way. But ever since I was in high school, at the latest, if not earlier, I looked forward to the celebration of Easter by the attendance of the Holy Sacrifice and by the singing of good music within the Mass. Everything else was extra.

I would not go. I would stand up for religious my beliefs. I would not call the gathering blasphemous, as some have here, but it does go against everything the Church teaches about Good Friday.

Why not settle the whole thing by attending Catholic services on Good Friday? I’m sure you can find a parish nearby that has both Morning and Afternoon services on Good Friday.,
Bear in mind that abstinance from meat and fasting are manditory for all Catholics on Good Friday, so that is a good reason to stay away from their so-called “Easter Dinner”. I don’t know how old you are, but if you are out of your teens, and your parents protest, stand up to them and tell them that they have no right to endanger your immortal soul by forcing you to eat on Good Friday.
