Is it disrespectful to hang a rosary from a rear view mirror? I recently received a traveling rosary for my Confirmation and was hoping I could hang it in my car. Is this okay?

In many countries it is illegal to hang anything from the mirror as it is considered a distraction and it obstructs view.

Leaving the legal side out of it I don’t think its disrespectful.

Better than your Mardi Gras beads 😛

I used to have a Rosary hanging there all the time. I could easily see around/thru it (for safety) however it was so obvious to me that I would constantly think of our Lord (and our Lady, too). I’m proud of my Faith!😉

Methinks it should still be up there then! Unless you no longer have a car or something, of course.

DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT!!!
I pray for the person everytime I see a rosary in someone’s window! I need to get one for the car, right now I have a Pope John Paul II medal.

I have one in my car. It is a really good reminder for me in many ways… . 🙂 🙂

I tried hanging one from my mirror, but it bothered me. It was a regular rosary and it hung down and swung around and in general got in my way.

Now I have a rosary sticker on my back window and see it every time I check my rear view mirror.👍

I not only have a rosary on both cars rear view mirror but on the one I usually drive I also have a medal of the Virgin Mary. I even have a piece of the palm we received on Palm Sunday. No problem since the mirror is not blocked and higher than my sight line would be normally anyway.
When driving sometimes I even say the rosary. It is better than yakking on the cell phone. Only problem is others might think I am talking to myself. 😛

I think you are on to me… 😃 Ok, I really don’t get road rage, but it does most certainly keep me less annoyed.
I don’t get road rage anymore either since I quit my “day job”. But yeah, if somebody cuts me off on the freeway, the rosary helps keep me from leaving my normally mellow state.

Quitting a job you hated can mellow you out so much that you drive slower. :o

I have a Sacred Heart Badge on my rear view mirror.🙂

if you go to the EWTN religious catalouge you will find these little sticker for your rearview mirror that have bible verses on them.

If the rosary will keep you from flipping the bird at the bad driver next to you the more better it is to use it! 😃

i’ve got one in my car too, and i feel so happy to see the Holy ROSARY hanging from other car rear view mirrors… i once read in ‘the secret of the Rosary’ by St. Louis De Montfort that a king once wore his Rosary from his belt and although he never said it himself all his subjects and followers made it a daily habit of saying it, and because he had encouraged others to say it by displaying it, he gained the blessings of those who said it.
