Is it good to "do justice even though the heaven's may fall"?

Basically, should one do something good even if it would result in the deaths of millions perhaps?

Is such a thing even good?

I tend to be somewhat skeptical of this theory but it could be true.

Of course one should. Jesus, for example, did a few good things, and these have caused the needless deaths of countless martyrs over the centuries.
 
Like dropping two A-bombs on Japan to completely kill their incredibly strong and resiliant fighting spirit–which argueably saved thousands of American/Euro lives?

Or massacuring thousands to reclaim Israel and Juresalem, which in the end, was a total failure?

This is a difficult question.

No. The cause of martyrdom isn’t that Jesus “did a few good things”. His death and resurrection are the pivot point of history in the struggle of good against evil. Evil hates good and will try to destroy it by any and all means. Should we then abandon good so there be no more “needless” deaths? As if the death of the martyrs was indeed “needless”. The blood of the martyrs is the very life blood of the faith for it brings about conversions and strengthens the resolve of the faithful. Christ is the New Adam who is in constant battle against the Old Adam that lives in all of us. Men are motivated by hatred and fear (of losing their control over others) and that is why they kill God’s holy ones not because Jesus “did a few good things”.
