going to heaven is not a matter of ‘being harder’.
heaven is a birth right of the sons of God. co-heirs with christ.

nicodemus posted the same question once to JC himself, see what JC said, John 3:1-21

I have often heard, being Catholic is like going to Heaven in a luxury ocean liner while being anything else is like trying to get to Heaven in a row boat.

Actually, Catholics can say a perfect act of Contrition at our last moments and still be forgiven of mortal sins without a confession to a priest.

St Catherine of Sienna, once said that a man was forgiven all his sins, in between the time he was falling off his horse and hitting the ground.

Have a few masses said for your mother and grandmother.

One question I have is, How can Heaven be truly Heaven IF your friends and loved ones are not there ???

Believe and trust in the mercy and love of God, and all will be as you hope will.

Sorry for your loss, and God bless you.

I’ll just pick on this one line from your post.
Heaven can only be heaven if God is there. Many people may find that they have NO friends or relatives in heaven. Heaven is NOT about the presence of other people.
Don’t forget, only the minority of us have our sights set on heaven. The Gospels have many references about haw difficult it is and how we must choose the narrow gate … not the easy route that leads to hell.

I always see it this way. In heaven we will be able to recognize those who we knew on earth. But will we really care (relatively speaking)? Being in the eternal presence of God will take most of our attention I would think!

While here on earth we must concern ourselves with each other’s eternal salvation. In heaven we will be praying for those still struggling to “work out their salvation in fear and trembling.”

I hope this thread helps to encourage those who refuse to accept that they are special in any way. If not, great.
Either way, it is a good thing to ask.
