When I am alone and I make the sign of the cross I always think “In the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost”. When in Church I follow along with all the young folk and say “Holy Spirit” They don’t know no better.

Matthew 28:19 in the NT Greek:

eis ho onoma ho patEr kai ho huios kai ho hagios pneuma
into the name of-the Father and of-the Son and of-the Holy Spirit

Sorry I don’t how to type the actual Greek letters on my pc.

When you are praying do you say Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit?

Which do you chose when you are writting?

Have you changed as you matured?
I say Holy Spirit.

I chose Holy Spirit, when writing.

Matured? 😃 lol Just kidding! But I don’t quite understand that last part. I was taught Holy Spirit so that’s what I say. 🙂

I use both. I don’t think it has anything to do with age/maturity of a person, just whether or not he/she prefers older or more current English terminology.

I alternate and try to use Spirit when in public liturgy.

BUT… Holy Ghost is probably more proper. For the translation came together: from old english (akin to the German) Heiliger Geist)

Whereas… Sanctified or Sanctifying Spirit would be a proper translation of Spiritus Sanctus. Holy is a word that has no latin or greek origins.
