Well my thoughts would be that cyclists shave their legs, a matter of comfort can hardly think it would be a sin, body builders wax chest etc to show muscles, maybe considered vanity, but again. I think our bodies are supposed to be looked after like no tattoos, excessive piercing, i can not see removing unwanted body hair in same category.

Not all acts are intrinsically sinful. What is the intent behind the removal of body hair?

Is body hair removal for men sin?
Shaving your face? Shaving your head? Your private area? All of the above?

The answer to all of them is no. Is there some reason you think it might be?

James

“The hair of the chin showed him to be a man.” St Clement of Alexandria (c.195, E), 2.271

“How womanly it is for one who is a man to comb himself and shave himself with a razor, for the sake of fine effect, and to arrange his hair at the mirror, shave his cheeks, pluck hairs out of them, and smooth them!..For God wished women to be smooth and to rejoice in their locks alone growing spontaneously, as a horse in his mane. But He adorned man like the lions, with a beard, and endowed him as an attribute of manhood, with a hairy chest–a sign of strength and rule.” St. Clement of Alexandria, 2.275

"This, then, is the mark of the man, the beard. By this, he is seen to be a man. It is older than Eve. It is the token of the superior nature….It is therefore unholy to desecrate the symbol of manhood, hairiness.” St. Clement of Alexandria, 2.276

“It is not lawful to pluck out the beard, man’s natural and noble adornment.” St. Clement of Alexandria, 2.277

In their manners, there was no discipline. In men, their beards were defaced." St Cyprian (c. 250, W), 5.438

“The beard must not be plucked. ‘You will not deface the figure of your beard’.” [Lev 19:32] St. Cyprian, 5.553

“Men may not destroy the hair of their beards and unnaturally change the form of a man. For the Law says, “You will not deface your beards.” For God the Creator has made this decent for women, but has determined that it is unsuitable for men.” Apostolic Constitutions (compiled c.390, E) 7.392. (1)

You shall not round off the hair on your temples or mar the edges of your beard. ( Leviticus 19: 27)

: )

This of course is not binding law so never fear beardless chaps, your savlation is not in jepordy of this issue lol. A lot of this has to do with the culture of the times. Back then it was more of a pagen thing to be clean shaven if you were a man.

Body hair styles change and vary as much as head hairstyles. Most women don’t and never did remove body hair, whereas in some lands men generally have. It depends on why you do it.

Most of us shave. No one has ever found it necessary to tell us that it was sinful.

Matthew

I think it is a personal preference. I don’t like body hair on certain parts of the body, so I remove mine. Some men can’t grow a beard, and some women are less than smooth.

It is not a sin for the sake of sports or performance, i.e. swimming, cycling, triathlon, bodybuilding, etc. As long as it is not for strict vanity purposes.

Now if you’re manscaping that’s another story.

Is it a sin to shave your face?

I don’t recall being required to have a beard. So therefore I don’t see how waxing your chest will matter.

When you some type of surgery it is required to have body hair removed in the area of surgery. The nurses shave that area.

If the hair in your face makes you feel ughly I don’t see anything unlawful to want to look normal or nice looking.

I have noticed some male actors look beautiful because they don’t have any hair on their faces.

Some people are born without hair on their body.

Are you trying to ask if it is a sin to remove body hairs? My answer is no because there are times when it is healthier not to have body hair in humid areas where it could be very uncomfortable to get rid of the body hair.
