Hi crenfo. So sorry to hear of your situation. That is truly a sad dilemma to be in. No criticism from me. I realize how torn you must feel right now. Prayers going out to you. Just curious what breed/mix of dog, if I may ask?

My support for you goes to the sympathy that I know it’s incredibly painful and I’m praying for you. But also as a parent, I want to thank you.

When I was growing up, my cousin had to make the same choice. His dog bit him multiple times on the arm. It was a hard and painful decision.

Sorry you’re going through that.

Joy!

Turns out I don’t have to euthanize my dog. We’re getting a trainer and doing a bunch of behavior modifications. I’m so relieved. We brought him to the vet for a behavior consultation yesterday.

But yes, it is morally acceptable to euthanize animals. Extreme animal cruelty, however, if done with foreknowledge and intent can border on mortal sin as we are stewards of this world and what God put in it.
