Is it morally wrong to pray or ask for good grades?

I have just finished the winter quarter at my college and just had finals last week. I was doing very well in both my classes, I had 100% in one class and 98% in the other class. I knew I needed a certain percentage of points to get A’s in both and I feel like I may have fell short of that after taking the tests. I should have studied more and by the time I really needed to study I had a bout (and still in one) of depression. It took everything I had to just take the tests. I started taking medicine for it and hopefully it will work, but I would hate to see all my work I had put into this semester be wasted because of laziness and depression. Anyway, I guess my question is whether it is morally okay to ask God for the grades I had worked so hard to achieve with exception of this one week where I couldn’t pull it together? Or at least help alleviate the blow it will have on me if I do not achieve these grades? I know I will be devastated if fall short. I feel like it is almost selfish to ask God for these things even though it was completely in my control to do well.

No.

But it’s probably better practice to ask to be the type of student who gets good grades.

What you “feel like” is immaterial. Feelings mislead. They lie. They divert. They preoccupy.

Rather, pray for the fortitude to study well so that your study may be reflected in your accomplishments.

I think it is proper to pray for most anything.
But as with all things, it is up to God to grant what we ask for.
God will give us what we need, not necessarily what we are asking for.
Study harder. Good luck God bless you! 🙏🙏🙏😀

Bring ALL your intentions before him, no matter how petty or foolish. Let Him be the judge.

Thanks everyone for your replies! By the grace of God and the kindness of one of my teachers I was able to retain the grades I had worked so hard to earn and maintain.
