I am currently registered as an independent voter, but I am so unsure which way I want my vote to go come November 2016. While I understand and completely support Republicans when it comes to their stance on pro-life and gay marriage, I feel as though my views line up more with the Democratic Party, which focuses more on helping the people of the nation, especially the poor. The only thing holding me back from voting democratic is because I am pro-life and against gay marriage. However, it saddens me to say this, even when we did have Republican pro-life presidents in office, abortion still happened. I honestly feel as though politics will never be the answer to ending abortion, only prayer will someday. So, that being said, if I vote as a Democrat, am I committing a mortal sin? Please let me know straightforward. Thank You.
