Mass is at 4:00 here on Saturdays. Will that work?
Yes.

By the way, in case anyone tells you that your obligation for the Sunday is only fulfilled by the Saturday Mass if the readings are the same on Saturday and Sunday that is not correct. The readings are not relevant to the fulfilling of your obligation.

I was wondering if the Church says we must attend Mass on Sundays. I work on Sundays and attend Mass at my local parish every Wednesday and sometimes on Saturdays at another parish. Does the Church look down on me for this or is it okay to go to Mass when I’m not working? Thanks. :tiphat::tiphat:
When the canon law was revised in 1983, the law makers relaxed the earlier law of 4 PM to allow even times as early as noon. The chancery would know if there is a more specific time given by the bishop. Saturday evening Mass (but not Wednesday), although before sunset, still fulfills the Sunday obligation even though it may not use the liturgical readings of Sunday.

Thank you all. I feel much better knowing that I’m fulfilling my obligation be going on Saturdays. It is very important to me to fulfill all of my obligations to the Church.

It should also be said that if you haven’t been consistent in the past with your Saturday evening masses, you should consider receiving Penance and Reconciliation as soon as you are able.
