Traditionally, when the Church bell rings at 6.00 AM, 12.00 PM and 6.00 PM we are called to pray the Lord’s prayer or the Angelus. Is that necessary for a Catholic to do?

No.

But it doesn’t hurt and can only help one’s soul. 😉
Fr. John Hardon S.J. (who’s cause for Canonization is in the process) said to try and say the Angelus at least once a day. In honor of Our Lord’s Incarnation. God Bless, Memaw

When I am outside, I can hear our church bells ring. I always say a prayer and thank God for His blessings of the day.

Some people live near Catholic churches that ring the bells at those times. (electronic bells). 🙂
I have been at many churches and almost all if not all ring their bells. I live in a traditional Catholic country so there are Catholic churches everywhere. It doesn’t matter where you live in my country, extremely high odds are that you are going to hear ringing of the church bells.

When I hear the Bell,s ring before going to Mass,it is telling me that Mass well soon begin, but I to hear them at other time also, why I don,t know.

Well, America is not traditionally Catholic like my country or a big part of Europe, so the ringing of bells is probably not heard by all people(small amount of Catholic churches). If you live in a traditionally Catholic world, like me, like it or not, you are very likely to hear the ringing of Church bells. That is as far as i know before mass, and every time at 6.00 AM, 12.00 PM and 18.00 PM.

When I am close enough to hear church bells ringing it reminds me to pray. It does say in Scripture to “pray always”, so I remember that I am in the presence of the Lord at all times.

And you could always add similar sounding ‘chimes/bells’ on your phone and sound the alarm at those times of day when there are ‘traditional’ prayers to be said. 🙂

As someone said, it never hurts. I just miss living by Santa Croce in Florence and hearing the basilica’s bells every hour on the hour.
