I look at myself as weak.
@Thecatholicguy , there is nothing wrong with you .
You are just where you ought to be , confessing your weakness .
God forbid that we ever approach God other than with empty hands .
Take a lesson from St Paul .
““My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” (2 Cor 12:9)
“For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Cor 12:10)
“If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness.” (2 Cor 11:30)
Reflect on these words in Mary’s Magnificat , " He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty."
You are hungry for God , but look at where God is within you .
Look at who through your Baptism you are , what you are , what you have already received in Baptism .
"The Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for . " (Romans 8:26)
Rely totally on the Holy Spirit .
Perhaps learn to make Mary’s Magnificat your own prayer . Ask the Holy Spirit to help you to do this .
And Mary said,
“My soul magnifies the Lord,
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.
For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
for he who is mighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his name.
And his mercy is for those who fear him
from generation to generation.
He has shown strength with his arm;
he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;
he has brought down the mighty from their thrones
and exalted those of humble estate;
he has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has helped his servant Israel,
in remembrance of his mercy,
as he spoke to our fathers,
to Abraham and to his offspring forever.”
