Is it ok for a catholic on Facebook 2 like gay pages?

Is it ok for a catholic who is on Facebook 2 like gay pages? I don’t support gay same sex marriage.
 
I like many lgbqt youth awareness pages where youth can turn who are feeling suicidal and it’s not for me to call if this person is in the wrong or not.
 
I would say it is not ok, by liking it, your saying your supporting it, which would contradict the Catholic faith
 
Often on facebook, an group page requires a user to “like” it in order to post on it. So, in that case, a person would have to “like” a page in order to put a post on it that disagrees with something that another user or the administators of that page has written. Or to ask a question about the group. For that reason, one can’t assume that just because a Catholic has “liked” a group, that means that they support the group. They could just as easily be evangelizing or explaining true Catholic teachings. An example would be a friend of mine who had a couple of Muslim pages “liked” on his facebook page. This really confused his aunt who was afraid that he was converting to Islam when in actuality, he was discussing Scripture and the different teachings of Christianity and Islam and certainly had no intention of converting.
 
I would say it isn’t ok. The Catechism says that homosexual acts are disordered and intrinsically evil; gay or homosexual pages are supporting homosexuality and the evil and disordered acts that often occur within it. I think that “Liking” a page that completely goes against what the CCC says is wrong because by liking the page you show it support. 🤷 :takethat:
 
What specifically are these pages about? Are they promoting homosexuality? Are they offering support to those who are facing emotional issues? We might be able to provide answers with a little more context.
 
The Catholic Church I attend is hosting a support function for gays/lesbians and their families. Perhaps there are better ways of adressing these issues than on FB.

Gays are not evil, and as long as a web page does not implicitly or explicitly condone a wrong-headed view of how someone with a homosexual orientation ought to handle it, it is OK for a Catholic to express support of the web page.

Facebook, OTOH, is the work of the devil. Just Say No. :rolleyes:

Seconded. I do not believe it is impermissible, if it is not done with the intent of implicitly or explicitly supporting a belief that homosexual activity is morally inoffensive.
 
Don’t forget the sin of scandal. Ask yourself, “Will I scandalize people by liking this page?” And that goes for all pages gay or not. 🙂

I think it is less about what you intend and more about what the page actually does and does not say. It is not necessary to shun particular people because it is necessary to shun a certain moral view they espouse. In fact, it is wrong to shun the person rather than the wrong they espouse. If they will not associate with you unless you agree with some certain stance or another, if they wrongly think that their stance is their person, then that can’t be helped, and you have to let them shun you if that is what they insist on, but gays as a group absolutely should not be shunned.
 
Thanks for the responses I don’t want to scandalize anyone but I am just curious 2 see what it is all all about
 
The pages I want to see if they support each other or what else they do
