Is it ok for a woman to wear a hat at Mass?

In winter I often wear a hat, usually a beret, and I’ve been taking it off at Mass because I don’t see other women wearing any hats, except maybe one lady. My husband says it’s actually ok to wear one but he is not allowed.

What is the rule?
 
Dear Carol,

It certainly is fine for a women to cover her head in Church. It wasn’t all that long ago that it was required. Some SIsters still do. Go for it!
