Is it OK for Catholics to have a Way of the Cross in the backyard?

I am tearing up my lumpy yard this summer and would like to install a Way of the Cross – putting up the stations along the garden path and along the fence (my yard slopes in a way that lends itself to a meditation walk). Everything I found at newadvent.org about setting up a Way of the Cross referred to parishes and religious communities.

So am I allowed to create a Way of the Cross for my family in our yard, or should that be reserved for parishes?

Hi,

The Way of the Cross is an approved private devotion of the Catholic Church of which the faithful are encouraged to use. It is certainly appropriate to have it in your garden as you have described it.
