Hello,
I know the Catholic church permits natural family planning for non-selfish/serious reasons. However, I was having a discussion with a friend who is thinking about getting married soon but wants to delay having children using natural family planning for years after marriage so he can obtain his college degree before having children. My understanding is that a couple is supposed to be ready for children at the time they are married in the Catholic church. Would delaying the birth of your first child be immoral, or is this a matter of individual conscience? What are your thoughts on this?
