That’s not an issue. There are many devotions that are prayed using a 5 decade rosary. The rosary beads are merely an aid to help us pray so any earnest prayer would be pleasing to God.

One thing to consider are the indulgences for praying the standard rosary that are not connected to our own created prayerful rosary.

One doesn’t always need to pray for a reward…there is great value in a personal prayer for peace of mind or just to says thanks. Go for it on the personalized mysteries!!!

I agree there is always value in personal prayer. But the indulgences we receive from the official church Rosary are valuable for the souls in Purgatory. We don’t always request indulgence for ourselves, we also ask for indulgence for the souls in Purgatory.
Why not combine the personal prayer with the Rosary? Pray the Rosary and attach our personal prayers either in the beginning or at the end.This way we have both devotion and personal conversation with God, both the benefit of indulgence (if we receive Eucharist and go to confession) and our own affective prayers.

I always forget the mysteries, so sometimes I look them up online on my phone and sometimes I skip the mysteries and just pray. I hope that’s alright.

Something to keep in mind when praying:
2558 “Great is the mystery of the faith!” The Church professes this mystery in the Apostles’ Creed (Part One) and celebrates it in the sacramental liturgy (Part Two). so that the life of the faithful may be conformed to Christ in the Holy Spirit to the glory of God the Father (Part Three). This mystery, then, requires that the faithful believe in it, that they celebrate it, and that they live from it in a vital and personal relationship with the living and true God. This relationship is prayer.
2559 “Prayer is the raising of one’s mind and heart to God or the requesting of good things from God.”…
2562 … According to Scripture, it is the heart that prays. If our heart is far from God, the words of prayer are in vain.
2111 Superstition is the deviation of religious feeling and of the practices this feeling imposes. It can even affect the worship we offer the true God, e.g., when one attributes an importance in some way magical to certain practices otherwise lawful or necessary. To attribute the efficacy of prayers or of sacramental signs to their mere external performance, apart from the interior dispositions that they demand, is to fall into superstition.41

I had also created my own rosary prayers. I named it chaplet of faith. It was a wonderful experience. But, one thing to be kept in mind that while making rosaries don’t make false promises e.g. “if you pray this rosary once 15 souls will be released from purgatory” or “if you pray this your name will be engraved in sacred heart of jesus” etc. but yes it is fine and pious.
